What you think of the EMU and will you be getting one?

There are now pictures of the 350 on the Farish website. It looks to be almost on a par with the 4mm version (which is excellent) and should be a winner.

Will I get one? Well, it's a lot more modern than my preferred era (late 80s sectorisation) but the grey/blue version could ALMOST be BR, so who knows? There could be some mileage in doing some alternative vinyls, such as SWT, First Great Eastern and Heathrow Connect if I can get a non-gangwayed end produced.

Not sure - it does look good but want a SWT version, which would be the 450 (from a discussion on another post). The destination boards would probably need to be Waterloo. Wonder why they went with Silverlink and not SWT?

Incidentally, a white Desiro, named 'Destination Weymouth', was on the Portsmouth line today - it seemed all wrong.

I will definitely be getting at least one (if not more) - it looks superb.  In fact I restrained myself from buying a 4CEP at the weekend so I would have more pennies for the Desiro!

I suspect the 450 is only a matter of time as there are not too many changes to make, but I can understand going for WCML 350s (wide range of operation and slightly more liveries than just SWT (but only just!).

Even more tempted now! But I will have to restrain myself from buying any more until the SWT version or a Southern Electrostar or a Pendolino comes out. I just love those 'new fangled brightly coloured worms' (as someone said on another post)

Hattons have the N scale at £122 but the OOs are £106 - why? Have the Ns got interior coach lighting as well?

Hattons operate dynamic pricing.

Anyway there is no logic which says N should be cheaper as miniaturisation can often make things more expensive.

Not much for plastic mouldings, die cast blocks or for shipping. Volume dominates pricing (plus the 'as much as you can get away with' factor). I suspect if N and OO were equal volume N would be way cheaper, but it's not so they get less units to spread the high setup and tooling cost over.

I'll end up getting one at some point for a repaint into SWT Blue as a 450, or I might get Mercig to do one for me .
