Title: do production runs gets repeated?
Post by: scotrail on April 29, 2015, 04:07:47 PM
Hi guys

There are a couple of locos I an ibterested in (by gf an dapol) which have since been sold out. Do these companies repeat productipn or is it a case of once gone its second hand only?

Some of the prices for the second hand are close to new price so wondering if worth waiting my time for snother prod run in a year or twos time.

Obv im awate that linitrd editions wont be repeated  :D

thanks in advance

si

They have done in the past.

Where production runs have been repeated, running numbers are changed and often the repeat may be weathered.

What are you looking for? Have you tried the smaller shops; Quite often you can find stuff still in stock whilst the likes of Hattons and Kernow have long sold out.

Happy modelling.

According to posts here, some of them have better running too.

Dapol don't tend to re-run the same number, but may re-run the livery.

Farish definitely do re-runs of wagons/coaches.

Ultimately it is down to whether either think they will sell enough to do a second (or more!) run.

It doesn't surprise me too much that the price of SH is not that different to new - I wouldn't expect it to be much cheaper unless it was in worse condition.
