Title: What to do with Farish "Concrete Works Chemical Silo"?
Post by: NeMo on April 04, 2015, 11:01:08 PM
Had one of these (http://www.ehattons.com/26787/Graham_Farish_42_054_Concrete_Works_Chemical_Silo/StockDetail.aspx) for a few years. Bought on a whim. But apart from building a cement or concrete yard around it, could one of these be adapted into anything else? In agriculture perhaps? Or at a railway depot of any kind?

Cheers, NeMo

I have definitely seen similar silos on farms (painted dark green) although I don't know what they are for.

Failing that you could use it as part of pretty much any generic factory set-up I would think; lots of processes use nasty chemicals!

Yeah, you don't really need a reason - as Jon says, it would fit into any industrial scene. Didn't (Haven't?) timber yards got a similar structure for sawdust control and storage? Mine Has! (Background of this shot):
