Title: Cinder Valley
Post by: Papyrus on April 03, 2015, 09:53:13 PM
Hello!

I've just come across this website of a company I've never heard of before.

http://www.cindervalley.com/#/1148-n-gauge/4551297514 (http://www.cindervalley.com/#/1148-n-gauge/4551297514)

Has anyone bought anything from them? The website is less than informative - I can't find what the models are made of, and prices seem to be elusive, but the mine is just what I'm looking for. I'm not sure I want to take a punt on such scanty information.

Cheers,

Chris

Seems to be a site offering accessories/modelling resources rather than structures from what I can see.

The pithead looks to be scratch built - nearest kit I know of similar ilk is Grover Cleveland Mine Kit.

see http://thenarch.com/products/grover-cleveland-mine-n (http://thenarch.com/products/grover-cleveland-mine-n) or try here http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/N-Scale-Architect-Building-Kit-p/nsa-10204.htm (http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/N-Scale-Architect-Building-Kit-p/nsa-10204.htm)

Erm, that's some website and not seen them before.  Website's just missing one small but critical thing for me -telephone number.

Spent a bit more time on there looking - all they have are accessories/loads/scenic stuff.

The drop down menus are pretty similar in content and same pics appear under the items where available.

No updates on the Cinder Valley Gazette since 2012.

Order form is a print and post (scan and email possibly) but as pointed out lack of telephone no is unusual

Thanks for the replies - you have confirmed my original thoughts which were to steer well clear!!

Damn shame really...
