Does anyone know if anybody does an N gauge car transporter wagon.
The reason I ask is my son sent me quite a large collection of (almost) n gauge cars, and I would like to use them on a rake of several transporter wagons.
I know NGS do a kit (Kit No.17), but I am not very good at kit building, especially when it says "it is complicated to build" in the advert for it.
You can get them in 00 gauge, but haven't seen any in n gauge.
Don't tale my word for this, I know NGS do 1:148 scale kit builds that are for the more experienced modeller.
But I think one of the European makers (Fleishman possibly) does car wagons which are European build that are also used on the WCML, don't take it a gospel but IIRC I think I spotted them a few months back! Issue been they are not British 1:148 they are 1:160
I'm not aware of the Fleischmann ones.....interesting Acko......but various foreign types are available new or second hand; Kato, Lima, Minitrix, Ibertren...
Here is a rake of Ibertren carriers that I resprayed to "represent" UK types; not too hard a job, although out of gauge, even allowing for the 148/160 difference....

Cheers Jon :)
Thanks for the replies.
I like the look of the Ibertren one (never heard of Indertren before), and there is a link to KJB when you type Ibertren in the search field - but they are out of stock.
The price KJB were asking is about half the price of the Fleischman ones that Gaugemaster advertise.
Have emailed Katie at KJB asking if she is getting any more, otherwise do you know anyone else selling them?

Lima also do a car transporter wagon which comes up on ebay and second hand on a regular basis at a sensible price, usually. a mate of mine has a long rake of them which looks great!!
Best wishes in your search

Lol ok I was right, not what I meant I will have a look when not in work and get the pics of what I was thinking.
Although your Ibentren ones look really god and very tempting
Fleischmann definitely do them in N - I have about 6 or 7 of them. They pop on eBay every couple of weeks or so - malcrosby7 is a seller that has them quite frequently. I paid between £10 and £20 each for them over the course of several months as they came up.

I have sent an email to the seller you mention asking when he will next have any.
I tried to give you a "thank you", but for some reason the "thank you" box does not appear on your particular post - but it does on other peoples!?
Looks like your "thank you" got through anyway.
Via this post (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=26524.0;topicseen) from georgiehgv I see Scograil (http://www.scograil.co.uk/-christmas-special-deals-278-c.asp) has some Fleischmann car transporters on offer, though maybe not the type you're looking for.

I checked the Scograil site but couldn't find any car transporter wagons for sale in N gauge -
where did you se them? under which category - have tried wagons without success.
MF Train do some of the 3 axle articulated type used for international flows by STVA. Single deck for commercial vans and Land Rovers, and double deck for smaller cars. Also some others in this link to a French online and show retailer who I have bought from in the past.

Sorry - I was looking for "open" car transporter wagons - so didn't see the "closed" ones.
I want 2-tier ones on which I can place the collection of cars I have, like the Ibertren version.

Interesting site - I have sent them an enquiry as to whether they accept Credit Card payments and can deliver to Tenerife as there is one N gauge transporter wagon they offer that I would be interested in and accepting payment in Euros is beneficial.
Thanks for that.
Antique toys (Ebay) has a couple - not built by CJM surprisingly!

From what I have read on here about Antique Toys I don't think I'll bother checking those, and anyway I never buy off Ebay, but thanks anyway.
To Woodbury22uk - Thankyou for giving me details of that French site that sells transporter wagons - I contacted them and they said they had in stock one I was interested in, can deliver to Tenerife, and accept payments by Credit Card.
I have just replied asking to order one.
Regards
I'm now trying to avoid ordering half a dozen of the STVA 3 axle articulated ones. Shame they only do white, I like the red!
How daft will 1:160 wagons look behind a 1:148 66?
get a Kato 1/160 66 ??
Haha! As long as it's always as far back on the layout as possible it'll be fine, where's the Father Ted clip about perspective...
In making further enquiries about car transporter wagons, spotted that Osborns are advertising a "Kawai KP-290C double transporter wagon set" at a cheaper price than most other single transporter wagons and they appear to look good although are an unusual size 1/150 it says.
Have sent off an enquiry to Osborns about them as their Website is wrongly trying to charge VAT on deliveries to the Canary Isles. In view of recent comments on here about lack of responses from Osborns I'll see how long it takes to get a reply and the VAT charge corrected, although have found Mike very helpful in the past.
Anybody know anything about "Kawai" model railway products?
Just to let you know that Mike at Osborns responded to my enquiry within the hour,
but I have been out playing snooker so have only just been able to reply.
