Title: BUYER BEWARE!
Post by: Peediemodels on March 17, 2015, 08:53:46 PM
I have been advised by a few customers that some of the Muswell Models range are being sold on eBay at inflated prices, and under the guise of another manufacture.

Peedie Models are the sole UK manufacture and distributor for this range (I hold the masters and copyright of all the Muswell Models range), and only the retailers listed on our website sell the genuine products.

If you see any of our products for sale and it does not indicate that they are from a Muswell Models master and/or made by Peedie Models BUYER BEWARE as these may be poor copies of what is an exceptional product.

Thank you for taking the time to read this as we do not want to have our products and reputation tarnished, and most of all you the modeller to receive a sub-standard model or service.

Kind regards Paul T
Peedie Models.

Hi Paul,

Those members following the eBay Madness (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=1459.msg290848#msg290848) thread might well have seen this mentioned on there too. The seller has a bit of a reputation as a rip-off artist in model railway circles, and often sells things like 25-year old Farish Class 37s for over £100 by falsely claiming they were "kit-built" by CJM. Chris of CJM has personally stated he's never touched any of those models, which is clear to anyone really since they've usually just been renumbered or had a poor repaint job.

I can't imagine anyone would be stupid enough to spend £50 on a low-relief N gauge building to be honest, but it doesn't look like eBay are particularly interested in cases like this unfortunately. As they take a percentage of sales it's not in their interest to ban sellers who operate outside of the law or unethically.

Thanks JB,

I just like to look after my customers both current and new, and hence putting this posting on here.

Thanks to all members who have given me support since starting the business and I look forward to assisting you further.

You need to have a minimum number of posts before you can access certain sections of the forum. To get onto the eBay post you need to have 10 posts of your own.

It's not really that strange, as many forums do a similar thing.  It encourages members to contribute more to the forum before they get the full benefits.  You are now further proof that it works.  :)

Or perhaps a lot of people who enjoy reading, but don't want to post, just give up and leave because they cant see everything..

Would it not be a good idea to have this written somewhere at the top of the forum so that people know they have to do this, as obviously I didn't, and I expect there are a good number of others that are as ignorant of these rather strict rules as I was.

Some other forums don't allow adding attachments until you have 10 posts, like say Images on a photo forum, music files on a music forum etc so it's not that peculiar.
