Hi,
Long anticipated but not in the least prepared for the news:

The Multiverse will never be quite the same.
Heading for the Mended Drum :(
Regards, Gerry :'(
So which to believe?

Roger
superb author!!
I am totally gutted by the news, he has written over 70 superb books and despite being diagnosed with Alziemers, he made it into a positive to work hard to help others and raise money and awareness of the disease.
Rest in piece my friend!!
Best wishes
Simon
The world has lost a strangely fantastic mind which produced a brilliant author! :( It is a sad thought that there will not be any more Discworld books written by Terry Pratchett - and I doubt that anyone else could write them in his place either. :'(
we have lost one of the most inventive and funny writer have read all his books :'(
I hope he had a ride on Binky.........
:(
is it,
"TONIGHT I MEET MY MAKER"
He will be greatly missed by all who loved his unique sense of humour

This seems to confirm a comment he made on a BBC tv interview I think from last year, this pre-dates that:

I've not seen anything else since then relating to his daughter continuing the series, but it will no doubt take some time to move beyond the immediacy of such a loss.
Regards, Gerry.
A wonderful author and a very funny man - a great loss, but what a rich legacy he leaves us.
My favourite line of his: "You can lead a horse to water, and while you can't necessarily make it drink, you can stick a hosepipe up its nose and turn the tap on."
Rest well, Sir Terry.
ook.......OOK ?........OOK !!!!!!
His legacy will live on. I'm looking forward to "The Watch" on BBC. Apparently Hugh Laurie is to play Sir Sam.

By the way, I am typing this as I am waiting for the latest shade of red to dry on a Clarecraft miniature of Rincewind the Wizzard I am painting at the moment. I have Colon, Nobbs, CMOT dibbler and Dorfl on the stand in various states of paint as well. These areall for a future Ankh Morpork layou I am developing. Totally gutted that I will never get the opportunity to show my work to the man himself and just wish him well on his journey across the black sands arm in arm with Death himself.
Best wishes
Simon
