This weekend unknown to my wife i have just spent £300.
on what you might ask well here goes the list..
The new blue Tornado that has been pre weathered by TMC with next day delivery :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
8 sets of kato points
8 sets of kato point switches
1 set of kato double switch points
and last but not least a bottle of captain Morgan ready for the running in party.
I really can not wait and can not remember the last time i got this excited.
Just need to work out how to get it all home so the wife will not see... last time i tried new shoes for her but she saw through that, maybe this time it will arrive home in box files from work so i can just go straight to the cave to work.
Anyway im sure videos will be posted ASAP unless im found out

How much is it worth ?
Flowers at the funeral, , , or a donation to a worthy cause/forum ? :laugh3:
Do as I do.
Grovel or just casually mention that you bought a couple of bits when she is preoccupied, then when balloon goes up you can honestly tell her you already told her but you were too busy ......
Good Luck.
It's a good thing you don't model in O gauge! :D At least you can fit N gauge locos into a coat pocket.
I do just what Silly moo said if I buy anything at the many shows I go to ,when I get home I just hang my coat up and say nothing then next morning when Vals gone to work I take the bits down to the shed.
Another trick is I might tell her that I've been given another Loco to mend for a friend then I Pretend to have a quick look at it and say I'll have to strip this one down and sort it out down the shed ,of course theres nothing wrong with it so it goes in my stock box.
My wheeling and dealing money and the amount of stock I've got are the only secrets I keep from Val ,can't do that with big items like the BB or Pendolino so they end up as Christmas and Birthday presents.its worked for 33 years so I don't want anyone spilling the beans .NO I WONT PAY YOU LOT TO KEEP QUIET.

Having been a single man for many a year I find no need to wear the support any more so have had it dry cleaned and sent off to Findus. We all just know......................
'There may be trouble ahead........'
All I get is how much did that cost and why do you want another one blah blah blah, I will just have to get stuff delivered to my works that way its top secret lol.
So far my purchases have been fairly modest and the domestic goddess hasn't complained. However, I do have a backup plan if needed, which will involve mention of the amount she has spent on musical instruments over the years...

Pam just says if you want it get it it's your money, can't complain about that but I find I regulate my spending because of that
Laptop bag gets most things past 'Customs'
My wife, fortunately, is into 'Hidden Object' computer games. If I think I have said, "I have ordered (whatever)" or "I will call at the model shop for (whatever) next Saturday" a bit too often, a few minutes later, I will say, "Do you need a new game yet?". The answer is always "Yes", so I just tell her that I will take her laptop to work with me the following weekend and download one or two for her. Easy. ;D And as they only cost the equivalent of about a tenner, (if I can not get them with an offer code), I am quids in. :claphappy: David.
