who has ordered one then????
when did they paint the one in LMS but with full yellow ends?
cheers
Tim
It's a heritage livery, their is also a genuine LMS livery as well.
Tim, I fell into that trap but having double checked earlier info I changed my order to No 1. Cheers john.
I've got the original LMS livery on order, mainly as this one is preserved in that livery.
My housemate Joe (JC92 on here) has ordered two of them, blue grey one and the lms with yellow ends i believe.
Ollie
correct :) i have a thing about inspection saloons, i originally wanted the EWS one but the livery is horrible IMHO

I'm still planning to take a hacksaw to one and redo it as 45020, the one that EWS refurbished with modern windows and B4 bogies. Unlike the other EWS one it looks superb.

I have absolutely no idea what an Inspection Saloon is, so no, I didn't order one :smiley-laughing:
Paul
cheers for the replies
did the LMS with full yellow ends ever run on the mainline?
i've not ordered one yet but very likely to do so... i have the form that came with the n gauge society magazine recently.
tim
I am getting one of each except the EWS one - and no, they aren't for eBay. They are all mine...
Ordered the 1950s carmine/cream one: should look rather nice behind a Union Mills 0-6-0!!!
David
IP you old softy you ;), cheers john.
Here is the latest from the NGS:-
(http://www.ngaugesociety.com/uploads/images/RTRwagons/Inspection_Saloon/editor_2c631a8e17d83c4c8b0a483a4de48dcc_78bcaf.jpeg)
The NGS has seen the first two engineering prototype models of its forthcoming LMS 50' Inspection Saloon.
There are two models - one depicting the vehicles in "as built" condition with the cab front vent, the other incorporating BR modifications such as the roof air horns and underfloor LPG tank.
As well as the host of detail differences, the models feature NEM couplers in expanding close-coupler pockets, fine flushglazing and detailed interiors.
They will be produced in original LMS livery, BR Carmine and cream, BR Maroon, BR Blue-Grey, LMS maroon with full yellow ends and EWS Maroon/buff.
These models are on schedule for release at the Warley 2012 National Model railway show and are selling fast - reserve yours now!

what do you think about people who order all these ngs models just to sell them on ebay???? maybe ngs should limit orders to say 2 of each model?
i've ordered a blue/grey saloon (for my own layout...)
tim
Gotta say they are looking fantastic! Can't wait how ever many months it is to get mine :D
As for Ebay, it's the bidders who are the idiots. Most of the time they go for more than the cost of the model plus membership!
Ollie
I do admit they look great, will be joining the Ngauge society soon so may order myself one, although id prefer to repaint in the regional railways livery.

a short while ago there were a couple of Transrail cl37s on fleabay, on on auction and one buy-it-now, and both of them were over £10.00 more than Hattons were selling them with p&p, and you'd still got to add the p&p to the fleabay prices.
does make you wonder about some people.
Looks awesome. So good in fact I'm planning on buying one and then attacking it with a hacksaw as I want to model 45020 (the ex Regional Railways one) post MOD escort refurb.

which will need new sides for the window refurb work, plus the bodyside fillers (although those I may leave - and are wrong as far as I can tell on the EWS NGS model for practical costing reasons)
It's by far the coolest of them IMHO - a beautiful fusion of 1930s Stanier design and a modern EMU.
