Title: Regarding coaches for early Southern..
Post by: JimF on February 03, 2015, 11:15:11 AM
The Maunsell's are late 20's onward, if I understand correctly. What time frame for the forthcoming birdcage stock coming from BachFar? Good for late teens, early 20's?

Thanks.

Birdcage stock was introduced in the early 20th century (I think the preserved examples were built in 1910). I don't know exactly which diagram Farish is producing but given that they are including SECR livery, they should be about right for the post-WW1 scene.

The old Farish suburban coaches are also good if you're prepared to do a bit of upgrade work on them.
