Much underrated Australian actor, The Birds, The Time Machine and 36 Hours.
Pleased someone liked him. I was never a great fan, I'm afraid. I did enjoy the time machine, but more for the H.G. Wells story than his acting. Sorry!
I must admit that he was good in the Liquidator where he plays a secret agent who is frightened of killing, so he hires Eric Sykes to do the dirty work. It's impressive for the number of (then) lesser know British actors in it.
I remember that one well! In 36 Hours , one of my favourite movies he plays a German
who has a US officer (James Garner) kidnapped before D Day then brainwashed into
thinking the war's over hoping he'll reveal details of the invasion.
Sad to hear the news, my favourite movie is ' Darker than Amber ', first time
I heard the phrase ' you horse's arse '. Cheers john.
Sad news indeed, I watched The Birds only last week.
