These were first announced in October 2014, except the four marked * which were announced in May 2014 or earlier. The next four-monthly new items announcement is due in February 2015 around the time of the trade toy and hobby fairs.
Oxford's MD recently reported that 85% of announced new tooling for 2015 had already been completed in December 2014. This should help to alleviate delivery date slippage.
So far Oxford Diecast have released 210 different models in N, most of which are still available in the retail trade. The range can viewed on the Oxford Diecast website:-
http://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/eras/1_148_0__Current.htm (http://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/eras/1_148_0__Current.htm)
In case anyone is wondering, I have no official relationship with Oxford Diecast but I do watch carefully what they are planning and producing. This observation is the source for what I post on here. Like everyone else, I am just a customer of Oxford Diecast. Several models in the 1/76 scale Oxford Diecast range are the result of detailed photographic and graphic information supplied by me, and one vehicle type in 1/76 and 1/148 was the result of extensive research I undertook, and my original suggestion to Oxford Diecast.
Thanks Mike
Strangely enough I was wondering about your relationship with Oxford so thanks for the explanation and thanks for the work you've done with them.
Could you please put in a good word for a cattle lorry circa 1950/1960? ;)
I am a bit surprised that BT Models have not done a cattle float given that they have some suitable two axle chassis. I suppose a Dornaplas body on one of the those might make a stop gap.
Cattle trucks could appear on lightweight and medium weight chassis. Biggest problem for the diecast makers is that in bygone eras there were few national operators of these so the scope for multiple liveries is a bit limited. I always thought that the BT Models mix and match approach had the particular merit of allowing say a row of similar trucks with different cabs but bodies fit for a common purpose - cement mixers, dustcarts as they were, tippers, horseboxes, cattle trucks etc.
"Vintage Roadscene" magazine is a great source of inspiration for these. There were two extensive cattle truck articles in 2013 with scores of period photos for the 1950s and 60s. The current (January 2015) edition has a feature on dairy industry trucks - Bedford O series 2 axles and artic, Bedford OWL, Bedford TD, Thornycroft, Guy Warrior, Albion Chieftain, Bedford S, Dodge LAD, etc., flatbeds, dropsides, tankers and all. It also has a feature with a title to appeal to the readership - Bikini Units.

Just one item announced for delivery in January so far:-
NFG004 Foden FG tipper -Blue Circle Cement.
Delivery expected w/c 12 January.
Go on Mike tell us which was yours?
Doubtless we all have our very own wish list for Oxford diecast as we do for the products of others producing N gauge.
I agree a cattle wagon would surely be a good choice as so many incorporate a farm on their layout. Good to see an annouced dray for all of those Breweries many of us lads seemed compelled to include! I realise that Oxford try to release a model in as many variants as possible to maximise the return on their tooling costs etc. The Brewery dray again offers a lot of scope for breweries around the U.K. A few of their releases have surprised me a little, but I'm more than a little surprised that they have not produced the Bristol K & L type buses, given they were once to be found over great swaths of the U.K. They were around from the immediate post war years with some later built vehicles lasting into the early 70s wearing the NBC liveries of leaf green or poppy red. Tilling red or green with cream were the liveries used fairly exclusively until NBC days (the K type double decker was also found in highbridge and lowbridge types) Given this cancels the scope for a variety of liveries they could perhaps supply the models with fleet-names and a range of period advertisements for self application. I think potentially the overall numbers sold could pretty much make up for the lack of alternative livery sales, such as is happening with the Bedford OB and Scammel scarab, to name just a couple. They would of course miss out on the collecting fraternity who might rush to buy a near identical vehicle with one digit different in the registration. I think I may have suggested this about the Bristol K&L some time back, but thought it worth mentioning again.

Since you asked Richard it was the Bedford OWB utility bus. Enjoyed doing the research. Still many well known liveries to do.

Thank you Mike I hope you can help them in the future with other great ideas.
Retailers have been advised today of the following new items for later in 2015:
NCA002 Bedford CA ice cream van - Walls - NEW TOOLING
NDEF003 Land Rover Defender 110 hardtop - British Army
NIRZ001 Scania Irizar coach - Eireann/Eurolines - NEW TOOLING
NLAN188019 Land Rover Series 1 - 88" hard top - AA
NMWD001 Bedford MWD - Royal Engineers NEW TOOLING
NPE008 Plaxton Elite coach - Stagecoach Coastrider X7
NWM001 Whitby Modial Mercedes ice cream van - Walls NEW TOOLING
Interesting to see Army vehicles and ice cream vans from two different eras on the list. Two coaches, and an AA Land Rover. Who is going to come up with the magic formula to make plain liveried cars a better business proposition for Oxford?
With Oxford Diecast entering the OO locomotive and rolling stock markets, I hope that we may be lucky enough to see some similar N gauge products in the future...
Oxford Rail have announced a new 00 gauge wagon today in six different PO liveries, as well as identifying the liveries and prices for the Adams Radial locomotives. Impressive RRPs I understand.
More altra modern what about the 70-90's?
Hi,
On the other hand, on the current plan alone I could easily go for 20+ modern single door buses, such as:
http://www.buszone.co.uk/Enviro400_081009_5.JPG (http://www.buszone.co.uk/Enviro400_081009_5.JPG)
Double and single deck.
Yes, I have some of the Hong Kong ones, there have been excellent conversions to 2-axle 2-door, but they're not right for the types I see in numbers on a daily basis and sit uncomfortably in my eyes. Elsewhere, Atlanteans are too old 'period' types for me :D
And a shrink-ray on the TX4 taxis would run that pretty close...
Regards, Gerry 8)
I think N train may include a single door MB Citaro lookalike in their 3D printed range, which would get you nearer to the Enviro. I say lookalike only to avoid MB asking for licence fees!
An upcoming 00 scale Streetlite DF lookalike kit is being referred to as Modern Single Deck Bus.
Hi Mike,
The major concern for me is with the modern double deck buses, and an equivalent quality single deck would surely make sense to follow on.
Some time ago Paul Burkitt-Gray had a topic 'elsewhere' on a suitable double deck 'print' he was working on (there are some photo's in one of my albums on this forum of his excellent FUD '95 underground stock and a Virginian E44 electric loco I have from him currently languishing in my 'to do' drawer) – IIRC he was uncertain about a solution to the front glazing in particular. I shudder to think how much a 20+ fleet of those fully finished would cost though
[smg id=20521]
As to what is available, I do have one of Bob's very nice bendybus prints (also in my 'to do' drawer), so his single is under consideration. As can be seen in the photo, I do have the Graham Avis resin single deck and I'm considering trying something with them. I'm not keen on the nice looking TPM overlays for Tomix single deck conversions simply because, as with Atlanteans, they also look a bit too 'period' for my liking. There are also some scaled simple paper placemarkers in the above view - I put together 20 of 'em, so that's how I know how many... :-[
There are already suitable rtp buses in the orribly overscale ranges from some manufacturers so this isn't intended as a dig at any particular manufacturer of course, I have one of my 'notions' for something to do myself - I will take a stab at that if I still need to when I reach that point with my layout :D
I know it's a quite bit 'broken record' with me on this, but with so many latest livery Class 57/66/67/ soon-ish 68s, imminent Pendolino availability, talk now of Electrostars etc, equivalent modern double deck buses in particular surely need attention with the level of quality Oxford are renowned for, the days of plonking down something vaguely passable because it's considered subservient to the trains is certainly a thing of the past IMHO ;)
Regards, Gerry 8)
Couldn't agree with you more, Gerry. Like what I can see in your photo.
Living in the West Midlands means that almost all the passenger types currently running locally (with the exception of the 323, and 172) are/have been available or announced in RTR form. OK some of the DMUs are short formed. The missing ones can be made from kits or Adam's excellent overlays.
Buses are another matter. Maybe there is another topic here for the modern buses wishlist.

February new releases:-
NFG005. Foden FG dray - Scottish & Newcastle Brewery
NMN005. Mini - Lime Green
NOWB004. Bedford OWB Utility bus - Southern National
Hmmm ... what years would the dray be valid across ?
The FG with this style of cab was introduced in 1950. I don't know the registration of the S&N one yet to be more precise, or to check whether it is preserved.
Edit: Reg no. is ESF324C which is a preserved vehicle.
Ah :( Just too late for me ...
Oh well ... thanks anyway

Go to they news tab and the news item "second posting Friday 13th February". Sorry I cannot post the direct image links on the device I am using this morning.
Just imagine how many Ford Escorts, Cortinas etc they would sell if they produced them. I really think they need to catch up with their OO range especially for the 1970/80's
a range of Micros would be nice (even in 1-76 scale) , that's Pigs , Strokers and Bubbles . the KR200 is out and about albeit in the larger scale's .
I am absolutely in need of some 70/80's British cars for my layout. Some BL, Ford & Vauxhall varieties would be wonderful. I need well over a hundred probably 2 or more hundred over the next couple of years. I'm living in hope......

Worth emailing Oxford Diecast with a well thought out list of requests. Most of the N range rides on the back of the research already undertaken for the 00 and 0 ranges. They are starting to plan their 2017 release programme now.
A well argued case is more likely to bear fruit than a wishlist.

I received an email from Collectors Gazette magazine today with the heading photo showing 7 new N scale models which were displayed at the Nurenburg trade show.
(http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/gallery/31/thumb_21788.JPG) (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=21788)
These included two decorations on the Commer Commando coach (RAF and BOAC), The AA BSA motorcycle and sidecar, the Scania fire engine (Sussex), the Transit van (low roof with orange roof beacons in AA livery), the Mercedes Benz Sprinter ice cream van (Walls), and the Austin Tilly.
The quality of the items seems to be the equal of the larger scale models.
Video here showing a variety of new releases but none of the N ones, although Lyndon Davies (Taff) the MD of Oxford does make some comments about the N range at 2 minutes into the video.

I'm glad they have done the Mercedes Benz van as a future model could be a DPD courier van that are very common on today's road networks in the UK.
Just one new release scheduled for March:-
NFG006. Foden FG oval tanker - Regent
Would not mind Oxford Diecast adding this body shape to the range in their May announcements. This is the new Rietze one at1:160 but Oxford already do similar in 1:76

Just one new release scheduled at the moment for April 2015:-
NRAB005 Scammell Scarab with flatbed trailer – BRS Parcels
Four new releases planned for June 2015:-
NFT002 Ford Transit van "Royal Mail"
NFT016. Ford Transit van "AA"
NPE007. Plaxton Elite Coach "Scottish City Link"
NPP003. Plaxton Panorama 1 coach "Neath & Cardiff"
It is possible that there will be further new items later in the month.
On Sunday 31 May Lyndon Davies - MD of Oxford Diecast will be on the Oxford Diecast Collectors page on Facebook to reveal the next planned models and new shapes from their June to September catalogue. The announcement to the model trade is scheduled for Monday 1 June.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the regular updates - very helpful and on several occasions have prompted me to seek out the latest release, that otherwise I might have missed!
Do you happen to know if N Gauge will be featuring at all in the new release announcements scheduled for tomorrow evening?
cheers
Ben A.
Ben
I am as much in the dark as anyone else regarding the announcements. I would expect there to be some new N gauge liveries and maybe a couple of new shapes. The Facebook session is a regular event on the group and is intended to be the first place for any announcements. Normally Taff shows progress on announced but not yet released items, as well as previewing entirely new items. This covers all scales and ranges. A new "construction equipment" range is expected which may or may not embrace N. The session is not generally the time for wish-listing, and there is a separate Facebook Group specifically for that. None of the groups is run by Oxford Diecast, and to my knowledge this is the only internet venue where the MD interacts directly with the customer base.
Hopefully there will be enough variety for there to be something for everyone, but you never quite know.
Hi Mike,
Thanks - I guess we will have to wait and see then!
cheers

I would agree with Mike I have taken part / viewed several of these in the past and they can be a bit odd. As he disappears off to cook tea or what ever. You need too be a member to view it all so ask to join in advance. It does not play out in any order either so you have to pay attention or you may miss something and it can go on for hours, the last one finished about 11ish I think.
I keep hoping OD will release an N gauge version of Ivo Peters' Bentley.
Kind regards
Paddy
One new coach casting and 13 new liveries announced this evening:-

One interesting comment from OD last night was the following:-
"I get regular emails on the N scale suggesting that we are not producing enough. The market is smaller than the other scales, so our decision making is driven by the commercial realities. Our investment in the range continues and by the year end we will have released over 275 items in this range."
And on a more general point not specifically N :-
"Those who know me will realise that I enjoy straight talking, so if you are prepared to comment, then you have to take the response. So what I would say is "We are always open to constructive criticism, but if our products are disappointing you, put your money where your mouth is and invest in some tooling yourself. Our releases this year – 17 new moulds and over 100 different liveries, some with additional tool mods." Of course I respect your views and we being in the public eye have to take the rough with the smooth."
So who wants to commission 2000 model cars?
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the update. The Network Rail landrover looks like a good one for our layout.
In terms of his comments on N-Gauge, he is right; the market is smaller.
Assuming his products are produced in a similar fashion to current model trains - ie CAD design then drives mould cutting tool then it may be worth looking at the 4mm range to see what might be suitable for shrinking, and then find out how much it would cost and what the minimum order would be.
It may be worth starting small with, say, a trailer that would complement the existing tractor mouldings, or a different livery on a existing moulding.
This might then be a suitable crowd-funding project; either with us at Revolution or as your own project.
cheers
Ben A.

Drat. Still no cattle lorry but I'm certainly interested in the ice cream van.
I thought it might be useful to summarise the list of Oxford Diecast models announced but not yet released as of mid-August 2015. Hopefully not too many errors!

items marked * are new tooling. Pre-production versions of these have been seen so are confirmed to exist. All others are new liveries.
One thing which stands out is the absence of cars from all eras. Back in May Oxford's MD said in a Facebook message "I get regular emails on the N scale suggesting that we are not producing enough. The market is smaller than the other scales, so our decision making is driven by the commercial realities. Our investment in the range continues and by the year end we will have released over 275 items in this range." One suggestion was that people who strongly believed that certain models would be a commercial success could commission them and reap the financial benefit from the investment. So put the shrink ray on the 00 gauge Ford Escort, Cortina, etc. and fill your N Gauge Society Cartic.
Too busy this week to take pictures but my AA motorcycle and sidecar arrived last week. Despite fears that it was a 00 mistake it is in fact truly tiny. I will find it again one day .....

Here is the new Austin Tilley with a little bit of weathering ( that's what the stands are for!)

A bumper crop of new releases scheduled for release during the last week of July. 5 are completely new shapes, and the Transit van is a new livery.
NAEC001 AEC Matador - Royal Artillery France
NCA001 Bedford CA ice cream van - Walls
NCOM001 Commer Commando – RAF
NDEF007 Land Rover Defender LWB Hardtop – BR
NFT003 Ford Transit SWB – RAC
NSFE002 Scania Pump Ladder – Sussex Fire & Rescue
Prices seem to be £3.95 for the cheapest up to £6.95 for the most expensive.
These are all on sale now, although the availability of the AEC Matador does not seem to be universal. The Matador has catalogue No. NAEC008 rather than NAEC001 which I listed in error. Just can't get the proof readers!
the West Sussex fire & rescue Scania fire engine arrived today - I'd forgotten i had it on pre-order!
It's a lovely model but as the "WEST SUSSEX" is clearly visible may require a little modification to fit in on my north west based layouts :D
Now if only Oxford could apply the shrink ray to some of their other post 1995 00 vehicles it would be much appreciated
There's so little in the way of 1:148 modern Cars available, my 8 year old niece asked me why the residential street on my layout looked like a truck stop! :(
-I've 3 transits, 4 articulated trucks and a couple of the national express Paxton elites!
Jools
Tomytec - Japanese cars at 1/150
They are nice models of modern cars and if you select to right ones they look fine on a British layout
[smg id=27680 type=preview align=center caption="image"]
the AEC Matador ( labelled as Oxford Military - hopefully more shrink rayed models will appear? )
[smg id=27679 type=preview align=center caption="image"]
Can't fix this problem - turning the picture upside down on my iPad doesn't affect the uploaded image!!
[smg id=27681 type=preview align=center caption="image"]
Camera lens has to be on top when taking pictures!
Don't you just love technology! :D

I quite like the Australian ones :D
September releases now announced:-
NCOM002. Commer Commando coach - BOAC (second release of new tooling)
NIRZ001. Scania Irizar Coach - Eurolines (New Tooling)
NTRAIL001. Trailer - Bob's Hotdogs (New Tooling)

The September releases are now in stock with many retailers.
I still can't get over how cheap OD models are - exceptional value IMH0.

I agree about the value, and Oxford seem to have got their act together on deliveries.
There is now only one of the October 2014 announcements not yet delivered, and four of the February 2015 announcements still to be delivered. Many of the recent releases are from completely new tooling which illustrates the OD commitment to N. Bit of a contrast with the Bachfar buses announced back in 2009, with one shape (Leyland PD2) and numerous liveries not yet delivered.
Oxford could usefully tool up for the remainder of the erstwhile Bachfar cars. They have already made the ford Anglia, Mini, FX4 taxi, Morris Minor saloon and traveller. Left are the Morris Oxford, Ford 100E, Ford Cortina Mk1, Ford E494 5cwt van, and Ford Capri, although Bachfar only used model names and not the marque names for their versions which probably means they were not officially licensed. The shape of some of them did not necessarily give away what they were intended to represent.
There are 15 of the June 2015 Oxford announcements still to be delivered, some of which are intended for early 2016. The next new items will be publicised around I October 2015.
I have added an updated list below:-

My Bobs hot dog vans are reserved for me from A A R Models but I won't get them or the Walls Icecream vans till November then it would be nice if someone cleverer than me could change one to Bobs Bergers but in the same style of text and colours.they will look great on my show ground .Of course if someone could do one and bring it to TINGS wow that would be fantastic. One with Fish and Chips would be nice as well .
Yes Paul it might be for you computer gurus not for a nerd like me .bring them to TINGS and I'll pay you then .
Something like this Bob.

Excellent, I'll order a few Land Rovers if the price is right. :)
Thanks Woodbury22uk that's just what I wanted I will see if I can get my son or a mate to print them out for me as at the moment we can't print from my IPad
And I don't think our old printer can print that small but we will try.

Think im gonna repaint the ice cream van!
I hope Jezzer Clarkson won't be turning up :worried:
Hi
Just picked up one of the new Witby Mercedes ice cream vans
Very disappointing model as the dimensions are all over the place
The real van is just a touch under 2m wide the model is a scale 2.4m
Length is about right but height from road level is 2.8m which does appear wrong although I do not have this dimension for the real van
Sitting beside the Oxford LWB Transit it just looks wrong and it is the same width as their artic tractor units
Why can't Oxford get scale right as this is not the first model to be well out of scale
:veryangry:
I think wheel size and height of the body in relation to the wheel centres is off in several cases.
Hello all,
I remember reading an article many years ago in a modelling magazine (possibly the Railway Modeller) in which there was some discussion about the width of road vehicles, and a manufacturer (Corgi or Matchbox, I think) said that at that time all their models were made wider than scale because true scale cars looked too narrow.
I hope this view is not still informing Oxford's design criteria in the 21st century!
cheers
Ben A.
Just one new model for delivery in October so far:-
NMN004 Mini - Black and Wicker
But if you are into Ford vans there is a bumper crop in 1/76 scale with five different versions released:- 400E BR , Mk1 Transit (white) , Mk3 Transit (white), and fire brigade re-liveries of the 2012 Transit and the 2002 Transit Connect, plus many many more. Must be an important Transit anniversary this month I think.
Oxford will announce their next planned releases programme tomorrow evening (?) on the Oxford Diecast Collectors Facebook page, with trade advices going out over the weekend.
Mk3 Transit?! Fantastic! Have been waiting years for one (although I have a few painted white metal models).

Looking specifically at cars though only the Mini was a current model for layouts based on the last 30 years on that whole page - ridiculous!
Do these people just make what they want or do they actually ask modellers once in a while? ::)
Paul
The beetle was still in production up to 1985 in Europe and 2003 in Mexico ,some were imported , and the 2cv was in production till 1990, the mini, beetle ,minor and 2cv were long lived ,popular cars that are still in use in small numbers today and I think that is why they are there , cannot explain the Cresta , Snipe and Jaguars though.
I believe that Oxford aim primarily at the collectors not at modellers, so iconic vehicles get priority. I, however, would like them to produce a pack of trailers for the Scammel. When I worked for BR our local goods yard had two tractor units but about a dozen trailers, both box and flatbeds, and it would be nice to have spare trailers in my model goods yard. It wouldn't require any extra tooling either.
What is needed is a company to enter the market to provide Oxford some credible competition
I think we would see more focus on what the market asks for if competition is there
Also Oxford appear to be working with very questionable models with regard to ture 1/148 scale
Only BT to date providing alternatives and they have a narrow target era with only trucks and some buses
Hello all,
Isn't tbe new shape Routemaster a new modern model?
cheers
Ben A.
Most companies are interested in where there profit comes from 1/76 is both a railway and collectors scale ,n gauge is mainly a railway scale and for some strange reason not the major scale in Britain. Oxford make what the believe will sell and 1/76 constantly sells better than N Gauge . Oxford have given us more than any other company and are continuing provide varied if not common items for which I for one are grateful, though I model transition period I still buy at least one of each casting.
I wonder if the RevolutioN Trains model could be extended to road vehicles - that way those of us who want say an Austin Allegro (with the square steering wheel!) could pledge our money where our mouths are, while the manufacturer would have the certainty that the demand is there. It's all very well demanding another company enters the market, but the market is almost certainly not big enough for any manufacturer to come in and invest in models which may or may not sell well enough to recoup their investment.
Re previous posts, business is business, if Oxford thought money could be made from N gauge
Mondeos. Focuses, Kugas etc they would surely produce them. Though I'm still not sure
how many variations of Land Rovers and horseboxes sell. And who has a hearse
on their layout..............
I believe Oxford (or rather the gaffer!) have said that if anybody wants to put the money up they will make anything they do smaller for N gauge.
Im not sure there is much of a market there, otherwise I would corner it in crap 80s cars at 1:148 scale :D
I'd certainly be up for some novelty packs of "Crap 70's and 80's Cars":
70s:
- Maxi
- Marina
- Allegro
- Princess
80's:
- Metro
- Maestro
- (the one which had the same doors as the Maestro but not a hatchback)
- Rover 200
(IIRC there's a 3D-printed Maestro available).
I would have them too, just "because"
The one with the same doors as the maestro must be the mighty Montego!!
I had one of them! ( was a good car too! :dunce: )

I had a Maestro. Loved the car but it had a prehistoric engine ("K" Series?) with a manual Choke. Every few weeks the Choke cable broke and I had to replace it with a new one. Those were the days.

I took this from a post by Oxford's MD back on 31 May 2015:-
One interesting comment from OD last night was the following:-
"I get regular emails on the N scale suggesting that we are not producing enough.
There it is in black and white, further discussion would be superfluous.
We buy from Oxford because this is all that is available
If competition was there we would buy what we want not only what is available
The same argument about a small market is provided wrong with regards to locos and rolling stock. Look what competition has done for choice
The latest catalogue can be viewed here:-

N gauge is pages 30 to 36.
There is also a download button near the bottom of the page for a .pdf version. Beware that this is a big file.
The full range can be viewed online here:-
http://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/eras/1_148_0__Current.htm (http://www.oxforddiecast.co.uk/eras/1_148_0__Current.htm)
I always think their range of models is a bit strange, with 6 different horseboxes ,
endless varieties of Landrovers, trolleybuses etc, however these must sell as the gaffer says "our decision making is driven by the commercial realities."
The arrival of Sierras, Cavaliers and Astras in 1:76 might be a sign of things which could come in N. Seems cars are the most difficult area.
OD's Product Development Manager is ex-Corgi which might explain some of the odd choices of things which were in the Corgi 00 and 1/50 ranges, and then arrived in the OD N range but are not in the OD 00 range. A lot of a shortcut in the research stakes, even the liveries match the old Corgi Trackside and Collectables versions.

With all retailers now. May have been available at Warley, but I was in Singapore so did not get there this year.
I still find their recent N range very disappointing, they released a great range quite quickly but in the last couple of years, things seem to have slowed significantly with a very fragmented range - modern lorries with no cars to match, no more 1960 cars and nothing in between. I do hope things change and make me eat my words which I will be delighted to do if the time comes. I find myself looking through their larger scale ranges and drooling wishes they would be done in N!!
Merry Christmas everyone
Simon
My Ribble Leyland Royal Tiger Coach (NLRT001) arrived today. The wheelbase is correct to scale so a whisker over 32mm. It should fit over the Tomytec BM-01 motorised chassis once I have removed the two pillars which are used to secure the chassis to the clear printed body, and hacked about 4mm off the rear overhang of the chassis. Might have to relocate some of the electronic gubbins near the back of the chasis too.
Prior to starting the motorising project I took the body off the new Leyland Royal Tiger (NLRT001). The interior of the coach is a disappointment. The real thing had an underfloor engine and the floor was about level with the top of the tyres. As you can see Oxford have placed the seats very low down - more like a modern low floor bus! There is also no allowance for the centre entrance. Anyone wanting to detail the interior might be best to install a new floor at seat cushion level and take it from there.
(http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/gallery/10/thumb_33479.jpeg) (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=33479)
For the motorisation I will probably be heavily modifying the Tomytec chassis. To make it work I will need to turn the motor and drivetrain round fore and aft and lose the automatic stop - pause - restart facility.
Looks like an interesting project. Please keep us posted as it develops.

After hacking up a perfectly good Tomytec chassis and still not getting a reliable installation, today I tried another approach using the Walthers/Tomytec chassis which has an adjustable wheelbase and much shorter rear overhang. The video shows a temporary installation, and I am now creating a frame to install in this body which will allow chassis to be exchanged so the coach can run while another chassis is being recharged. These chassis have a Lipo battery and charge through a USB connection.

Nice one Mike, looks great, certainly food for thought, must have a look at this system sometime but I feel it will be much work to modify Claywell to make use of it.
