So, I thought I might go and buy her an N starter train set tomorrow.
Totally forgot that she is home on Xmas holiday !
Disrupted my routine somewhat !!

Give her a few bob and send her out for a coffee :D
Tell the truth - well almost !
Just tell her you're going to buy her a present.
If she insists on knowing or accompanying, then you will have to admit it's a surprise.
Hope you both like it !
I find I need to go and put air in the car tyres or go and get some oil for the car are good excuses.
Just read the label on the back of Newcastle Broon... I'm jist gannin to wark the dog.

But
which starter set?
Cue comfy chair and soft cushions ;D
Another thought - get Cardinal Fang or Cardinal Biggles to take her to Mass whilst you commit the dastardly deed.
Great suggestions :) :) thanks, all noted in my little black book !
There should be something in "Father Ted" ? some task given to Mrs Doyle to keep her out of the way ?
Xmas,
bah humbug,
upsets all my routines and i've got to be pleasant to people for a few days.
only joking, honest ;)

That one's easy ::) Just get her to make a cup of tea - G'wan, g'wan, g'wan
I found the perfect way out yesterday to get the last minute gifts...tell the missus you're going to work when in reality it is your day off, but you failed to ever tell her! All day to get the deed done and wrap it too. Then when you come home early you just say 'its been a long day so I can come home early, can you stick the kettle on?', and sneak the presents in from the porch while she does the tea.
Yes yes, I plotted this xmas out in meticulous detail...so well that she hasn't seen the extras under the tree yet and I'll wager she won't until xmas morning ;)
You could always tell her you are going off to meet your new girlfriend and she's not welcome :smiley-laughing: she's gonna love that one :veryangry:
I don't understand the problem.
just tell her to sit down and be quit, problem solved
M.
Hehee, good suggestions everyone.
Zunnans meticulous detail of going to work whilst admirable, wouldna work and would get me commited cos i have been retired nearly 30y !
(no I'm not THAT old, there is a story :) )
the 'girlfriend' ploy is already in use and causes great mirth especially when I add "Opportunity would be a fine thing ! " :)
I've been looking through Father Ted stuff for inspiration, cuppa tea is all so far thanks NPN.
Gosh, is it all nearly 15y old already :(
QuoteBut which starter set?
Ah good question
I think
she would like we would like the Steel Worker set, but I dont want all that DCC gubbins :(
would it really strain Farish logistics to offer both ?
(Dougal)"Oi, sure, it cant be that difficult can it fa'thr"
"Ah that would be an ecumenical question Dougal"(/Ted)

I think the lack of booze may have been the problem :)
Now that some xmas spirit has been consumed things seem to be woiking ok :) :)
Today I think I will play with Mixy's latest SCARM.
