I have just received a strange email from Keith Blanchard from Train Trax and I do not know if it is safe all that is in it is a website with no explanation, has anyone got this email from Keith, I just hope his email has not been compromised.
Wouldn't trust it personally, seems odd not to have any accompanying message :hmmm:
Sounds like he may have fallen foul of a virus.
Paul
Thats what I was thinking but there seems to be others he has sent the email to as well, I am going to try and get in touch with him to warn him of what has been sent out.
If Traintrax have their own site - don't go thorough the URL in the email but you can go into your browser and go directly to the site you trust.
As a note I never click on a URL from an unsolicited email. I don't even do it from my bank but go straight to their official website..
Yeah you need to contact the party concerned, but it has been my experience that if someone's email has been compromised, they work it out quickly and inform you.
Well I have sent Keith an email with my concern but he has not been back in touch.

More than likely no one stranger than me :laugh3:
Often such things spoof an email address from the infected computers address book, so it is quite unlikely that it is actually Keith that has the problem...

Well I have been giving my laptop a right going over and its not come from this end, there were about 5 other addresses the email went to as well.
the only dodgy site I go on is NGF lol.
Folks
I received this email as well.
It was addressed to about a dozen names including mine.
Unfortunately I did click on it (I wasn't that awake at the time) but it simply came with an error ( I cant remember the number but it may have been 333 or similar) site not available so I promptly deleted it.
Mods can Keith be notified about this thread please, if that's not already been done.
Thanks
Ray
I have just rung Keith ( tel no. On website) as have a few others.
He has a virus problem and is awaiting the technician's arrival.
Please don't reply to any evils / emails till its fixed.

Malwarebytes blocked it! :bounce:
Hi Geoffrey
Many thanks for contacting me.
The previous email was not from me and it appears that possible hacking has taken place at BT servers.
My computer technician, whom I hold in high regard, was unable to visit me until earlier today has made certain my computer is free of any virus and this is the reason I have delayed my reply till today.
Please do not open and delete the malicious email you received yesterday.
Regards
Keith Blanchard

I too got that email but didn't click on anything. I have just received another email from him re Black Friday, there was a link which I did not click on (for obvious reasons) also the email address seemed rather strange to me. I know Keith comes of here from time to time and I would be grateful if he could confirm none of his customers financial details have been compromised and that it is safe to order on his website again.
I have the same email for black friday but no mention on Keiths site, there is no way I will press any of the links in that email so folks please be very wary.
Just had 2 more emails from Keith, I do not know what is happening but it looks like someone has got into his email addresses and are sending out bogus emails, absolutely wrong that our emails have been taken in this way.
anyone else getting these?
I am getting these emails but I will not click on any link in them as I feel Keith's computer has been infected by a Trojan Horse. I hope he gets this sorted out soon.
cheers John.
Has anyone let him know that you're still getting them?
I'm on his mailing list, but I'm not getting them.

I have been busy in work yesterday and today, but having some spare time tomorrow I shall ring him and see if he knows about it.
I have rang Keith and was transferred to his answering service where I left a message informing him about the rogue emails
Has he been hacked again? Another strange email with just a link in it (which I didn't open). Threatens to destroy a perfectly good business :censored:
Well I can not believe he is not doing something about it, I thought he might answer us on this thread, I have also got an answer machine but I will not talk to these things I would rather talk in person, Keith has now gone into my spam email address so when genuine offers come along I will not know there on, his loss not mine.
I too got his answer phone, hopefully he gets the message. Time for him to get a professional in to help him on the security side of things. I certainly wont order anything through his website until I know it is safe to do so, I am even concerned about ordering stuff over the phone as I have no idea how he processes my card details :(
Gents, I emailed Keith today and got a reply, so he is aware, and he apologised for what's happened. I know that Train Trax has now ceased operations until next week, so hopefully things will be straightened out soon.
David
Is he using Outlook? If so, he should switch to another e-mail client that has its own address book. Outlook uses the Windows address book, which , being part of the Windozy system, is eminently hackable.
