Title: Curved nameplates for A3s
Post by: Ozymandias on November 20, 2014, 11:24:23 AM
Does any one know of a supplier that sells the curved nameplates that go on the splashers of A3 locos (in this case, I'm after the nameplate for Flying Scotsman)?

I've got a Farish Scotsman in desperate need of a repaint, but if I strip it I will lose the lettering on the name plate....

Any help gratefully appreciated! :)

Hi,
You might have to exercise a little patience until the NGS 'Shop' operation is sorted out, but the MODELMASTER list includes:
QuoteEtched Brass Name/Number Plates (specify name/number required)
MMT707 LNER/BR(E) NAMEPLATES £4.50
MODELMASTER show Flying Scotsman in 4mm on their website, but the N range is exclusive to the NGS

If you fancied changing it's identity to another A3, Fox transfers have a small selection of A3 plates available.

http://fox-transfers.co.uk/etched-plates?class=1714&scale=112&transfer_company=2187&transfer_period=2156 (http://fox-transfers.co.uk/etched-plates?class=1714&scale=112&transfer_company=2187&transfer_period=2156)

Cheers,
Alan

Hello.

You might get a set out of BH Enterprises, if you can get hold of Ray.

He acquired all the Jackson Evans plates that didn't get to the N-Gauge Society, but his stocks have been diminishing.

All the very best
