Could any of you well informed railway buffs out there tell me the correct colour livery/lining for 'ROYAL MAIL' coaches from early 1950's
(G VI cypher)? Cant tell from b/w photos and rare colour ones look maroon.Many thanks,hosta.

From what I can gather they were painted in standard 'main line' coaching stock colours. http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/gansg/7-fops/fo-mail.htm

Thanks for the info,Poliss.Have scratch built 6 mail coaches,1 with pick-up net (hope the wife dos'nt notice the fine mesh gauze missing from the coffee filter).Set looked great until the Farish 374-901 arrived in red,still I can always repaint to suit! Hosta.
