Title: Resin Casting Services
Post by: Adam1701D on September 18, 2014, 02:17:04 PM
I'm in the process of commissioning some 3D Printed masters for Class 309 EMU driving cabs and will be looking to get some cast up in high-quality resin.

These are top-end 3D prints and would be way to expensive to print in quantity, so would need to have these cast, in order to bring down the costs to an affordable level. The prints are very fine and even have finely moulded pipework.

Can anyone recommend someone who would be able to cast, say 20-30 cabs for a reasonable cost, which will maintain as much detail as possible?

Thanks in advance!

CMA Moldform in Birmingham do (did? - it's a few years since I last checked) a lot of work for kitchen table model producers whilst still being top-notch quality.

I could be wrong but using CMA could work out expensive for a small quantity as that. No doubt because of the masters being fragile, the moulds will have to be cast in RTV,  both the mould and resin cured in a pressure pot.

Could you PM me a picture of one?

I have a caster that does very good quality casting but takes a long time. I will PM you his details, he is very good at multi part moulds, but you may need to make some changes to the master before you get it printed.
