Title: display cabinets
Post by: bluedepot on August 31, 2014, 12:32:27 PM
can anyone suggest any good ones?

I would prefer black or dark wood, or dark glass / perspex, and then obviously clear glass or pespex front to it to stop dust getting in.

i would ideally like matching styles, one for HO and one for N models....

cheers,

tim

Ikea Detolf?

It's what I use for my model airyplanes.

you can fit lights in them and all that shenangans if you want, there's a hole in the top.

Hi

I bought my son one of these for his games workshop/forge world miniatures. Very nicely designed case and a very reasonable price.

Cheers

I believe people have grafted two together for a bigger cabinet too.

Not cheap, but among the best:-

I will second the picture pride displays. I have 2 in N, one in oo plus another modified for non-railway.
I have a regular turn-around of locos moving from display to layout and back again without any wear/distortion to the case front or the clips that are used to hold the glass to the cabinet.
I can also report that these cases provide a dust-free environment with no 'dust leaks' as you can have with other cabinets.
Expensive but well worth the money as they are clearly made to last.
