Title: Pleased twice (no thrice) over
Post by: Tdm on August 28, 2014, 01:19:37 PM
Happy Chappy because :-

A) Delivery from the Isle of Man only took 7 days to get here.
B) Inside 1st box a lovely Prince of Wales Loco in Red.
C) Inside 2nd box a very nice B12 in Black.

The picture below shows them both on my short piece of test track on which they run lovely. Just got to try them out on my layout.

How come a tiny off shore Island like the Isle of Man can get things to me here in Tenerife quicker than orders from the U.K. Mainland, it usually takes a minimum 10 days for Hattons orders for example to get here.

Glad I discovered Union Mills and it was all thanks to this Forum. If only Colin made Diesels as well as Steam Locos.

The word 'thrice' is not used often enough!

Union Mills do offer an excellent service. Like you I'd love for Colin to have a stab at some small diesels.

Cheers

Great pix, must admit the PoW looks the dogs doodahs.

UM have an ideal business plan, manufacturer and retailer  in one, tried and tested range of locos,
keep things simple, don't announce new models then take 3 years to bring them out!

Yep he only produces locos without outside valve gear, thereby avoiding the valve gear and complex coupling rods which are the cause of so many wobbles and waddles on steamers in N gauge.

That's why all of his locos run so well. Interestingly my best running steamers are 0-6-0s like the recent Farish J39.

Cheers

D16/3 "Claude Hamilton" is next, mine is already ordered and due anytime now hopefully.

Colin says it has a new shorter tender (closer to GE proportions) which will also in due course go behind future batches of the B12.

Great pics and super locos.
I can only agree that the  service provided by Union Mills is second to none.

Congrats to you! I have the Prince of Wales myself. Such a good looking little engine.
