lil chris

Thanks for finding and sharing that clip with us.  It was certainly nice and impressive (and, as John has said, 'expensive'), but to me it was simply too CLEAN!  No wear and tear, 'dings' or any sign of the sorts of 'abuse' that would occur in a 'real world' situation. . .

Sadly, (and FWIW), while the number of wagons that were being towed were certainly large, IMHO it was also unrealistic, as to do so, even in 'G' scale only required the turning of the controller's  'dial' to increase the loco's haulage capacity.  Had it been a 'live steam' Big Boy then such  feat would certainly have been more impressive (and probably spectacular as well), as it would have been testing the locomotive's 'engineering' capabilities in a situation somewhat similar to that of the prototype.

As I said, FWIW, no doubt others will disagree...

Again, thanks for finding the clip.

I need to show Mrs Mustermark just what our little pine forest garden could look like with a bit of effort. Very impressive.

It must be a pain keeping those grass edges trimmed and tidy  :D

You'd be very lucky if she let you do this!  :D

As scotsoft says, there's a lot of $$$ rolling around out there....

So if I could do that, I don't think Mrs Bealman would give a (Australian saying) rat's bottom (well, not quite what they say here)  ;D

Glad it created some interest, although I did notice all those waggon's seemed to be empty !......he he. I have only a small back yard and with my little moggy Misty (she's sat in front of my monitor now) I don't think it would be a go-er....

Not so much a long G scale train, but a long INDOOR G scale layout. I don't think my other half would tolerate this much track on the floor

It looks as if it is a permanent feature as well  :o

I did enjoy the cab ride but wished you had seen more of the Challenger  :(

cheers John.
