Title: Strange, but not sure if true
Post by: Agrippa on July 23, 2014, 10:54:54 AM
I was on some website the other day about one of my favourite pop groups the Stones
and there was a lot of stuff about their wrangles with record companies and agents  etc.,
and they were looking for a new manager and someone supposedly suggested Dr Beeching.

The trouble is that Beeching would have decided the band had too many members and cut everyone except Mick and Keith who were the most profitable members.  :P

I don't recall if the slang term for an electric guitar in that period was "axe"...but that may have something to do with the suggestion.

Charlie Watts might have survived the chop, but only in a freight only capacity. I can only imagine that means he would have to carry his own drums...
