It's unusual I know, but I cannot for the life of me find a supplier of Steel wire which is not Stainless or coated with nylon, that I can buy at a reasonable price to make the route for my new Tomytec lorry... wire needs to be 0.3mm or 0.4mm max (about 28 Gauge in old money!).... and of composition as such that a magnet will follow it!
Anyone got any ideas ?
Thanks Paul.
Depending on length needed, how about guitar strings :hmmm:
dave
Sounds OK to me... they will be buried, I guess?
Have you thought about MIG wire, I am sure if you go to an engineering shop they might let you have some.

Doesn't matter how long it is, it will still have 2 ends :hmmm:
:sorrysign:
Couldn't help myself...... :D
Only thing I can think of is jewelry wire, but that might be coated and not do its job, I have wires at work all round me but that is no good its copper lol, sorry bud I have hit a blank
If you use thicker wire ie http://www.wires.co.uk/acatalog/COLOURED_ENAMELLED_FERROUS_CRAFT_WIRE.html (http://www.wires.co.uk/acatalog/COLOURED_ENAMELLED_FERROUS_CRAFT_WIRE.html)
And cover it with something like plastic arid, wouldn't that work?
This guy uses a music wire, don't know if the brand is available over here though:
