Hi does anyone know if the DRS class 47 is dcc ready and has headcode lights? Seen one I quite fancy and am pleased with a recent buy of a green 47. Thanks, George
Can anyone help on this please? Thanks.
Have you got the serial number chief? Should be 37x-xxx or something and should be easy to find out from that.
Farish 371-232 Class 47/0 47237 - DCC compatible but NO socket.

Is this the one?
Steve
That is the one is was looking at, but not want compatible want one ready, never mind many thanks for tracking the number. I saw it on DRS website but no details.
Take a look there for other stuff, www,directrailservices.com
Thanks again fellas.
With that code number, and the description on Hatton's site, then I would say it has a circuit board so needs a wired decoder soldered in. Don't have one myself, but I think only the more recent 47's have a six pin socket ?
Soldering the decoders in is not TOO difficult but if you do so it's near impossible to return them to "conventional" mode.....
I have a railfreight 47 from the same period. No lights and no PCB. 8f this is the sam you will need a digihat and do some extra work to install a decoder.
Richie, I think the definitive answer is here :-
