Title: Favicon
Post by: RichardBattersby on October 02, 2011, 10:52:35 PM
It would be really cool if this website could have it's own Favicon. I am now visiting this site a lot and would like to have it on my favourites bar in IE but without a Favicon it would look dull. Be cool to have it show up in my favourites list too.

The little pictures on your interweb favourites is what I thought, but the NGF has one. NGF on a green background.

Yeah, that's right. That's great but very sad that it, for some reason, does not come up on my computer  :'( :-[

Are you running Windows XP? I downloaded Microsoft Powertoys which has a repair icon function.

Red NGF on a white background, works fine on XP & 7 running Firefox, might be a cookie thing, try resetting them

The NGF logo appears perfectly on my Favourites bar in Chrome on Windows 7.

I've tried to create a Favicon for the ERG website but could never get it to work  :'(

Hello all!

I went to Stratford-Upon-Avon.  Had a great time!  I'm not one for hot countries.  :)

The Favicon should be white with a red NGF on it.  The green one is the old one from months ago.  :)  I must admit, I have used Firefox for years, and the Favicon has appeared with no problems.  A month ago I had to revert to IE and the Favicon doesn't show.  I'll try and work out why in the next week.

Thanks!

I don't know whether you still want a favicon Adam but to get it to work it has to conform to size and type.  I have created favicons for some websites in the past and they have to be 32x32 pixels, created in an "icon edit"program, background made transparent and be placed in the root directory of the website with the following in the <head> part of the webpage  <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico">.

For the current version of Firefox to display them you need to download an "add-on" as for some reason they were disabled in the latest incarnation.
