As some of you know a member of this forum is a serving Padre in the R.A.F
Dave(Irish Padre) is, at present, on a tour in Afgan, he will be out there till early January, if anyone would like to send the lad a goody box of stuff like pringles, biscuits, wine gums or anything you can think of( send me a PM for his BFPO address) please read the link below
http://www.mod.uk/DefenceInternet/DefenceFor/ServiceCommunity/BFPO/EnduringFreeMailService.htm
you can download a custom form cn22 off the net
before anyone say`s something Dave gave me permission to put this up
if Dave cannot get everything down his neck that people send him he will share it out with the boys and girls that he is camping with ::)

Just reading the dimensions of the boxes that can be sent out and thinking shoe box layout challenge :) (although it says nothing fragile, that doesn't rule out coming up with a 'hardened' layout :) )
with me having size 11 feet I should be able to get a few packets of sweeties in a box :smiley-laughing:

Nice one cloughie, thought I hadn't heard from him for a bit, can you pm me his contact details please
Likewise please, Cloughie
as the yanks say " on the way"
it looks like he has marines for company, now that does worry me as they eat there own young :smiley-laughing:

Ouch! - Here's to a quick recovery :beers:
Thanks Nobby and Cloughie. I came back a bit early (Although thankfully at the very moment I broke it my replacement was already inbound to Bastion! Being well looked after at home right now: might think about some modelling when the kids go back to school! David
Good to hear you are back in old Blighty.........
Hope it's not too long before you are back on your feet again.....
glad to hear you safe and home.
shame so many dont get to >:(
If anyone has already sent stuff, will it still go to bastion? if so maybe you could pass a message to your comrades to share any arrivals amongst them
David,
Glad to here you're home safe and sound, my daughter and her husband are home on R'N'R at the moment.
Not looking forward to them going back for another 3 months, even though my Son-In-Law is going to be based at Bastion, but my daughter will be back at a PB with 1 Yorks.
Regards
Neal.
Thanks Polo - have given instructions that any parcels are to be dished out!
Neal - hope you have a great time with son -in-law and daughter! I spent a night at a PB a few weeks ago and left with a lot of respect for those who operate there. Will certainly be praying.
David
David if anybody deserves a time at home it must be you lads who are serving in places like Afganistan.
I wish you well and a speedy recovery
No excuses for slacking on that layout now David ;) Glad you made it back in one piece
Jonclox has got it spot on, if only the politicians cared as much as the rest of us.
Good to see you back safe and sound David
Take it easy on that ankle
Oh well!!! Thats my daughter and her husband on their way back to Afghan, for another 3 months after their 2 weeks r'n'r.
Another 3 months of heart stopping moments when the doorbell rings, when you're not expecting anyone. Praying it's not yours, when the media announce another brave one loses they're life and then praying for the family who'se loved one it is.
Telling my wife that she and her husband will be fine, she's being well looked after by the lads at her CP, and that she'll not be doing anything to dangerous. Hmmphh who am I trying to kid!!!.
Just have to keep fingers and toes crossed for another 70 days or so.
Neal
What you wrote really gets it across just how tough that is on the people waiting at home. We will all have our fingers crossed for them.
Calne foxfile AKA Neal,
Best wishes to you and your family from an ex pat (SKOOLED in Chippenham).
Neal - I met my wife, Della, whilst based at Lyneham, she was a Calne lass and I know the area well, her brother still lives there and she has family in Chippenham too.
I am all too aware of the impact the base has on the local community down there. I have no doubt they and their colleagues will look after one another as always, and return home safely in a couple of months
Neal mate, im gutted for you mate. must be awful!
some one you love being at such risk. I dont envy you mate.
If you fancy a chat at costa give us a txt and im usually around
