Title: Dapol class 33's delayed
Post by: BobB on May 28, 2014, 01:01:35 AM
I've just visited the Dapol web site to check on progress for the class 33's only to find that they are now having the body re-tooled and will not be with us until the fourth quarter.

We all want accuracy but I would be interested to know what was wrong. Anybody know ?

Not sure what was wrong with the 33 - the test mouldings I have seen looked OK.

The 33 has been a difficult one to get right - Heljan have just released a totally new 4mm model, as their original 33/0 was criticised for the cab roof shape. That said, Dapol's 26 and 27 have been spot-on.

It is encouraging that Dapol are finding the time to ensure the 33 is going to be correct, as some recent models have left a little to be desired.
