Just tried "pinging" there various addresses and all are down with no reply being received.

Maybe their server crashed under the weight of pre-orders. ;D

I always phone my orders in these days and insist that YODEL are not used (Only Royal Mail) and this is clearly noted on the despatch instructions. Since I have been doing that no more problems thus far.

Yes, I have done that when ordering online in the past and most recently my BR black Ivatt was despatched using YODEL in spite of my clear instruction to use Royal Mail. That was a real debacle.
Since that time I have always phoned. How I position it with them is that if they are unable to confirm only Royal Mail will be used I will go elsewhere. I also make a note of who I spoke to. Having a name always helps I find!
