'Wrong' scale but I thought I'd share my mini S&DJR collection I've started.
The 7F is simply stunning in full lined livery, wish they'd shrink ray it!

I love that livery. Interesting that 00 suffers ugly couplings as well. Though I must say from my memories of my Triang youth, the tension lock couplings were efficient and only required a simple ramp to uncouple.

Even if the locos are not available in N gauge, at least the Palmers of Bridport brewery wagon is available (or at least was) as a limited edition from Buffers in Axminster.
And Palmers is still a memorable tipple to boot :beers:

Hopefully the Jinty set will be out soon in N as I have the N Gauge Palmers van so photo number three will be re-created in N.
Got to agree Bealman, tension locks look bad but function well. You'd think that something a little more clever could become standard in all Gauges.

Can't wait for a manufacturer (hello mr bachmann) to come to their sense's and make the S&D 7f in N...
Hope it comes in the 88 flavour ! (Go to the West Somerset Railway and get a ride with 88 on the front and you'll understand why I love that loco - what a noise ! :heart2:)
PS Jinty set pre-ordered, don't want 88 to feel lonely !
There is a kit for the S&D 7F, I bought one at TINGS last year, requires a Farish 8F chassis, construction of mine is currently on hold, I'm waiting for some laser eye treatment to allow me to see what I'm doing, but NHS are dragging their heels, referred in January, appointment June 20, and that is only to see the consultant, not necessarily for the procedure, that could be another 18 weeks at the rate they seem to work.

They also do an SR Z class which can run at Templecombe in later years, often employed piloting passenger trains to and from the junction & the platform on high level.
Just found out there where a collector's club 4F in S&DJR Blue.
Rare as you like but I will find one!
As Farish are releasing a 4F a S&DJR blue version might appear in the smaller scale as well.
The big downside is there's no matching RTR carriage stock or brake vans in OO :hmmm:
However some 4-wheeled carriages were produced in lined blue by Farish in the UK

Probably not the most accurate renditions, as most SD&JR stock of that length was 6-wheeled.
S&D six wheel stock is almost identical to Midland clayton stock. Proper kits exist but for an easy not quite right six wheeler stick the old Farish one on an NGS stove R chassis and maybe remove the battery boxes.
