Does anyone know if there is or ever was an N gauge GWR Class 1361 saddle tank shunter? It has great sentimental value for me, since my very first model train was the loco in OO gauge from TriAng Railways as the clockwork version.

1361 no, 1366 yes (but rather inaccurate and old). I'd love one too but nobody has ever done it afaik.
The body would 3D print fairly easily given suitable basic drawings but it's not at all obvious what chassis you could use for it. The Dapol terrier isn't too far off but the weights wouldn't be usable and you'd somehow have to add cylinder blocks and motion to it.
(Very basic drawing at http://www.greatwestern.org.uk/loco_draw.htm (http://www.greatwestern.org.uk/loco_draw.htm))
I've built 2 of the 1366 panniers, sold one ages ago, the other one is currently masquerading in Maunsell olive (don't have any of the other green)
It is a very tight fit on the Minitrix 0-6-0 dock tank chassis or the German 0-6-0T that uses the same chassis. Pulls very well, ideal for sending into tunnels to push out derailed stock.
You might be able to hack the ABS/Beaver 1366 kit, slim down the panniers a bit and fabricate the rest of the saddle tank. Main problem nowadays would be finding a kit, last one I saw was on the BHE stand at a show a couple of years ago.
This was my first train set. I am pretty sure it was supposed to be a Class 1361ST:

Hi - just found this ancient thread while looking for something else. I wanted one of these and ended up designing my own 3D print (https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=50199.msg652668#msg652668).
