Title: Dapol Cornish Voyager
Post by: georgehgv on April 13, 2014, 08:00:05 PM
Hi managed to get one of the 250 made for Kernow and states magnetic couplings. Question can I add the 2 carriage set 2P-005-003 ? Do they match and can I get the correct couplings to suit? Thanks.

Those are Mk3 carriages used on the West Coast Main line and are not compatible with the Voyager.  The real Cornish Voyager was a four car set, however if you did want to lengthen your set, Dapol did make an extra coach which was intended for the similar class 221 Voyagers.

Hope that helps

Having done the same for a 221 set, I would advise you be prepared to pay a fair amount for the spare coach. Think I had to part with over £35 to pick one up on eBay, silly money in hindsight.

I agree - there are some silly Dapol Voyager prices on eBay  :o. I'm after an XC set but only for a sensible price.

I picked up the Voyager for £99 inc carriage, so fairly pleased as it states not been used. We'll see.

Considering I picked up a 220 bookset for £64 posted, the money on the extra coach seems excessive. XC seem to be rarer, distinctly remember being outbid for 130+ for a XC 221.

I was probably on that auction too, but dropped out at £110  :(
