Due to Mrs "H" being diagnosed with breast cancer there has not been a lot of activity on the forum by yours truly. However this week we have a break with no hospital visits until Friday.
Firstly a package from Hatton's arrived.

Hi Jerry,
I am so saddened by your lady wife's diagnosis and can only wish both of you all the very best in fighting this pernicious disease :(
As for the parcel - that is just pure farce ::)
Sorry to hear your news Jerry and can only wish your wife all the best in her fight against this.
As for the paint, I thought paints were banned from being posted now? It was packed well though :hmmm:

Sorry to hear the news about Mrs ''H''. I /we know what a shock and scary time it can be as we went through it back in 2005.
Theres so much they can do to sort it out nowadays that most of the fears are unwarranted even if we don't acknowledge that at the time.
Our thoughts are with you both. Please pass them on to your good lady.
Sorry to hear your news Jerry :(
My thoughts go out to you and your wife
Dave
All the best to your wife and yourself Jerry.
Best wishes to Mrs H for a full recovery. Our thoughts are with you both.
As for the parcel, if the paint came in a box that size, what size will be the parcel containing the WD be??

Best wishes to your wife for a full recovery. My wife endured this pernicious condition 12 years ago, however the treatment she underwent removed all trace and she is now in the clear. Can appreciate the stress you and your wife are going through, just try to keep positive - it does help.
Regards to you both.
Gerry
Hi Jerry I am wishing your wife a speedy recovery from that horrible illness, hospitals are never the best of places, and I am so glad you can find time to post while you are going through the trauma.
Stay fit and well Jerry and happy modelling.
All the very best to both of you.
Having been through the same situation myself my thoughts are with both of you and I sincerely hope that your good lady comes through it and makes a speedy recovery.
Well some good news.
Mrs "H" had the surgery on the 6th June and is back home dominating the computer keyboard.. Actually we are still doing a regular commute to the Hospital for post op checks and she will be starting the dreaded chemo and radio therapies soon. We are lucky in that the Hospital is just 10 minutes over the mountains and is small enough in that we are getting to be known by the staff. Its the "idiot" Inglese in the wrong department again... We spend more time trying to find the right room than we do seeing the Doctor.
Luckily we are in the early summer so its sitting out under the shade weather, and I am able to get on with the more important jobs like finishing off the canal section on the railway.
Ta ta for now. Jerry
Thanks for the update Jerry, and all the best for your wife with her treatments.
Yep fingers crossed here for your wife, both of you take care.
Good news indeed Jerry. Hope all goes well from now on.
All the best to you and Mrs H, Jerry. I'm sure all will be well.
George
Hope everything moves along positively Jerry. Please pass on my best wishes to your wife.
Regards
Gerry
So pleased the op went well, Jerry, and very best wishes to Caroline during her future treatment
only just discovered this thread mate, give your better half my best wishes
Regards,
Alex
:) Mrs "H" had the first of the dreaded chemo sessions on Monday , ok the session started 3 hours late but thats Italy for you. Anyway its now Saturday and the only bad side effect was being told she has to give up vino and all booze forthenext 6 months... Looking positive and the sessions are 21 days apart which means we will not be doing the hospital trip when the grand kids visit.
I even managed to run the track cleaner around the layout this morning, the cantina being a cool 23C is the bestroom in the house.
Anyway we are both sitting outside in the shade. At 32 C the glue on my latest project, the Smart models Castle Heddingham station building, dries as it leaves the bottle.
regards Jerry
Glad Mrs H is doing well and not suffering any ill effects of the chemo (apart from the enforced abstinence). We had weather like yours all week, but now the school holidays have started, it's hissing down.
Hi Jerry,
Great to hear Caroline has not suffered too badly at the hands of the chemo, although not being able to drink your lovely wine is a bit cruel :(
Still, at least she can drive you to drink ;)
Hi Jerry,
so glad to hear all is going well - give my best to Caroline
Best Wishes
Alex
It is good to see you back Jerry and I hope the next six months pass quickly and smoothly for Caroline
cheers John.
Glad things are going well, and good to see you back, Jerry.
Best wishes, George
Couldn't agree more, great to have pop back in and wish Caroline the best for her treatment session.
The latest chemo has Mrs "H" feeling listless and under the weather. This has resulted in her watching (sleeping through) catch up TV for a few hours in the afternoon (thanks to a Roku box and our new interweb thingy that lets us seem to be in the UK).
This has given a good excuse to get back into the railway room....mistake. I started opening boxes and discovered all sorts of goodies that I had forgotten about. Do you hear that little engine screaming "try me, try me" ?.
So apart from a spot of track cleaning I have had a minitrix German 2-6-2 tank rushing about together vith** a blue German Bo-Bo, where did they come from ??? Then my e-bay bargain (circa 1999) of a Langley Q1 came to life after a drop of oil, Minitrix Scotsman, Mallard, on a rake of new farish Pullmans (NOT BLUE ones) and then I found the old 08, Western and a Warship. I feel like Dr Beeching as I ended preferring the Warship and Hymek orbiting past an unused goods yard with the passing loops out of use and a loco shed full of unused steamers...
To make matters worse I have got 5 more diesel things in the to finish box.
Jerry
**The "vith" was a typo but seems appropriate!
Sounds like a bit of fun time, Jerry :)
Sorry Caroline's not so chipper but hope things improve very soon
Chins up both of you.
Let's hope Mrs H feels much better soon.
Doing a much delayed catch-up. Sorry for the tough times you've both been through.
A good friend has recently finished her chemo. It did knock her for six a bit but after a few weeks she's getting back to her old form and now having a glass or two of what really does her good!
Something for Mrs H to look forward to, I very much hope.
Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.
