Hi Tim, what paint type are your trying to strip and off what? Bill.
hi
acrylics and enamels from plastic
cheers

I always use Superstrip from precision. Its expensive but is reusable and can be filtered. Dont use Expo modellers paint remover as it damages the plastic.
Dodger
brake fluid,
Mr Muscle oven cleaner, the spray cans
Dettol, the original not added pine etc
I've used all three and all worked for me, and without damage to plastic.
a short soak on Mr Muscle also resulted on the removal of all letters and logos, but no damage to the triple grey paintwork, on some railfreight shells. a longer soak did also remove the paint back to the bare plastic.
cheers mate!
I will look out for detol or mr muscle at the supermarket!!! not that I intend to clean anything...
if these don't work satisfactorily I will graduate onto superstrip!
cheers for help! love this forum.... without it I would just give up!!!

ok will do

Fairy Powerspray seems like a favourite!

I've just tried Revell paint stripper on some Peco wagons, and it's been quick and effective. I usually use Phoenix/Precision, but couldn't get any locally, so tried the Revell instead.
Good result so far.

I've used dot 4 brake fluid in the past with success but am now a bit cautious about using it on plastic.
I had a Minitrix Warship body to strip and it worked perfectly but a Minitrix Britannia body went gooey. I can only assume that Minitrix changed the formula for their plastic at some stage.
Brake fluid works very well on metal.
