After the still unresolved debacle in trying to chip my 3MT & 4MT I was vey happy to receive my order form Hattons.
Hurriedly unwrapped the parcel with my Bargain Class 56 (unbranded) inside, carefully took it out of the box and oiled it as instructed.
Placed it on track and started the running in process.
Suddenly realised something was odd with the lights.
It only had working lights at one end (the end away from the large side grills), but at least they did change correctly with the direction
Looks like I going to have to return it or is it supposed to be like that?
Can someone who has one please confirm wether or not it should have lights at both ends. ???

I never knew they made an unbranded class 56

Should have lights both ends - though I prefer lights only one end when pulling loads anyway! My hunch is a loose connection to the light bar on the no.1 (grille) end, but would recommend sending back rather than trying to fix yourself, unless you're happy to run with lights one end only (and maybe detail the end with the lights working??)
Thanks Chris
I'ii sleep on it, but guess it will be going back.

Are you sure it is not one of those locos that has a little switch underneath to disable the lights at one end?
