Black & Decker and a rusty hacksaw so I heard ;)
Paul
Yes, indeed. May all go well.
Some people on here swear by Xuron cutters. I have some which I don't use..................
I believe the gentleman in question reckons Xuron cutters are great and already has had words with the surgeon.

Seriously, hope all goes well and you come out a new man.
Yep, seconded totally.
Always a good idea to do a before and after count of major organs, just in case they "borrow" something.

Cheeky sod - apart from the odd arthritic joint I always thought the old model was doing OK :telloff: :)
And I hope the surgeon uses his stainless steel Xurons the right way round.
You'll be jogging by Friday.

There is only so much modern medicine can do >:D
Good luck and hope you're back home very soon.

Am pleased to be able to advise all that I had a text from Mick this morning and that his procedure has gone well but he does have quite a bit of pain. The 'physioterrorist' has arrived to drag him from his bed and get him moving again. No doubt he will enjoy that!!
Will let you know of any further developments
Thanks Lawrence, please on best regards for a speedy recovery.

Good for Mick and I do hope he gives the 'physioterrorist' all she/he deserves. I think they all are just sadists and enjoy the patients suffereing

I'm sure he will!
First walk down the hallway this morning with help of Zimmer frame.
Physio thinks I'll be better off with a couple of crutches so we'll be trying those later

 make sure you get the crutches with the go faster stripes on them they are far better. Zimmer frames should be banned >:D I failed my test on them 3 times (once for parking and twice for speeding) :-[
Don't forget the parachute for when you attempt your first flight of stairs!
Happy landings, Mick. ;)
Dave G
If your tackling stairs with crutches you better dig out one of your old bike helmets.
Just keep persevering, good luck.
Ray
Great to hear your getting around Mick
Hope the food is better than it is at Wigan Hospital :hmmm:
dave
Just had a quick chat to Mick, he is clearly drugged up to the eyeballs as he sounded quite cheery ;)
After his zimmer session he had a go on crutches this afternoon which, despite the screams, went well. The surgeons are happy with the way it has all gone and he is hoping to be home on Saturday. I have suggested that in his drugged induced, pain free, euphoria, it may not be the best time to go putting posts all round the forum, would certainly keep the rest of the mods busy though ;D
The upshot is, it all went as planned and he is doing well
Very good news; many thanks for the update. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Mick manages to do that without the Drugs >:D >:D :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:
dave
That's good news about Mick, thanks for keeping us posted Lawrence.
Ray
Just had a quick chat with Mick and he is now back in his own house with lots of walking aids and suitable medication ;)
He is understandably in some discomfort and a bit worn out presumably after his exertions with the physioterrorist ::)
Just a request though, Please Do Not Disturb, he is off to his bed for the evening so no phone calls until tomorrow please, thanks all.
Hi All,
I just wanted to say a huge 'THANK YOU' to everyone on the forum for their support and humour during my op. The support I shall wear at all times, but some of the humour will have to be severely dealt with >:D
It says a lot about this great forum that, although most of us have never met, we all rally round each other at such times. What a great set of peops :admiration:
Now just ploughing through 12 pages of posts

Glad it all went well and hopefully you will very quickly be back to normal.
How long before you can start crawling underneath baseboards again ? :claphappy:

Nah - to quote one of Newcastle's best exports I'm 'running for home' :P
Great to hear you are recovering well
Regards Graham
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
:bump:
I had a meeting yesterday evening with the surgeon who said I was doing extremely well and that, subject to my insurance company giving the OK, I was OK to drive my car.
With some trepidation ( :poop:) I rang said insurance company this morning expecting them to state a 12 week no drive period but, fair play to Saga, they just said they didn't need to know about the operation and relied on the NHS doctors to get it right.
So, beware World, Newportnobby is being unleashed onto the highways again and Forum Pimping will recommence :claphappy:
Thanks again to everyone for their support - I will wear it at all times :D
Great news Mick, have some fun
Graham
Good news to get back behind the wheel but do not forget only 300 miles a day any more you might get sleepy. :D
Glad you will be mobile again, and able to venture further afield.
I'm heading for the hills then, probably in Corfu or some other small island that you can't reach ;)
Excellent news Newportnobby!
I'm just glad there is a very large body of water between your position and mine! :P :beers:
That's great news Mick :claphappy:
dave
Brilliant news Mick, I bet all your chauffeurs are pleased as well >:D :smiley-laughing: :smiley-laughing:

Is staying south of the Thames safe? :worried:

Excellent news, Mick. Take it easy.
