Title: Recommended Magazine(s)
Post by: Tdm on February 16, 2014, 11:39:35 AM
I was thinking of subscribing to one of Model Railway magazines to keep me up to-date in Tenerife with new products and special offers etc. - but which one?.
Obviously I now model in N gauge and it is all British Outline - both diesel and steam.

The only magazine I have at present my son sent me from the U.K., and is the January edition of "British Railway Modelling" which covers all scales.

Is there a "good" regular magazine that specialises in N gauge, and if not, would the magazine mentioned above be a good choice or not, and if not then which one?

Thank you in anticipation of your replies.
Terry

PS. Sorry if I am going over old ground - just done a search and found a number of previous posts on "what model railway magazine do you buy".

See if you or your son can lay your hands on copies of N'spirations from either eBay or the N Gauge Society, there were 12 issues, I think, produced privately by forum member Grahame Hedges. He may have still have some left, you can send him a private message to find out, his forum name is H.

I have most of them and I think they are excellent.

There isn't a regular N gauge only magazine except for the N Gauge Society Journal. The other railway magazines occasionally feature N gauge layouts but the fact that there are fewer N layouts features has never bothered me as I think you can learn something from other scales too.
