Not sure if I have posted this under the right Forum - but it is aimed at the Moderator/Administrator responsible for the Map flag library.
Against my profile details when I make a post it shows a flag of Spain against my location,
but the Spanish flag is not the Tenerife nor the Canary Islands flag.
I am by no means "protypical" but in the interests of accuracy, any chance the Forum flag library could be updated with the flags of Tenerife & the Canary Isles? In the image below the top pic is of the Canarian flag, the bottom one the Tenerife flag, which is similar to Scotlands but a slightly different "sky" blue.

Telling an indigenous "Canarian" that his Country's flag was the red & yellow flag of Spain,
would be like telling a Welshman he should display a Union Jack instead of a Red Dragon, or
a Scotsman that St. Andrew's flag should be replaced by a Union Jack also.
Canarians don't like to be called "Spaniards" despite the fact that the Canary Islands constitute 2 different provinces of Spain.
Another bit of trivia that you may or not know - Admiral Lord Nelson suffered his only Naval defeat at Santa Cruz, Tenerife (where he lost his arm [or was it his eye]), but is highly regarded by the locals, and during February's Carnival week (2nd only in spleandour to the one in Rio Di Janeiro) there is always someone dressed up as Nelson and Lady Hamilton amongst the parade.
I am a mine of useless information aren't I, but I know that if I were to stick the flag of Spain on the back of my car instead of the Tenerife or Canarian flag, I would be asking for trouble.
I believe the Canaries are named after dogs rather than the little yellow birds, and there are 2 dogs on the flag!
Most countries have flags for their states and regions, though it is not always
the case that one is flown to the exclusion of the other.
However hope you get the one you want on your profile.
ps My brother who is a bit of a leftie refers to the Union Jack as "The Butcher's Apron."

I fully understand, as I'm fiercely proud of my flag.
The flags modification is made by a developer, so I'll ask if it can be modified.
Reminds me of the day I went on a guided tour around HMS Victory down in Plymouth.
This is a true story, ye of little faith.
It was 1970 and I was an 18 year old Geordie lad who had been granted an interview at Plymouth Polytechnic to pursue surveying. Me Dad was a BRS truck driver who happened to be taking a load down to the West Country at about the same time.
So I traveled down with Father and it seemed to take forever (like this story) 'cos there weren't the motorways etc etc, but I was old enough to go to pubs and was introduced to some cool ones around his Doncaster digs....
Anyway... eventually got to Plymouth, had interview, Father was unloading stuff off the truck somewhere. Had 2 hours to kill.
So went into docks, Navy blokes decided I looked like some nasty hippy and gave me a hard time (dragged into gaurdhouse, papers searched, looking back, they were younger than I was).
OK... here we go.... I went on the tour of the Victory, came across the plaque that says 'Nelson fell here'...
Not surprised. I tripped over it too.

My wife and I quite often visit some Welsh friends who own an apartment on the Algarve.
To get there from Tenerife the simplest/quickest way is to fly to Seville then hire a car at the airport and drive across the border.
Love Seville and we always spend time there before heading into the Algarve, beautiful City. I believe (correct me if I am wrong) the Province of Andalusia in itself is bigger than the whole of Portugal.
Anyway from Seville to Cabanas on the Algarve is a lovely drive on a mostly deserted fast road once you leave the outskirts of Seville and takes about one and a half hours from Seville Airport to Cabanas itself which is in the Tavira District.
Always stay overnight at the Dona Maria Hotel right by the Cathedral in Seville - lovely little hotel and ideally situated for exploring the City and just a short walk from the River.
Having "residential" status in the Canaries allows us a 50% discount on all flights within Spain and it's Islands, so flying to Seville is not expensive and takes just 2 hours.

Put it down to losing too many brain cells through old age or Victoria Bitter, too many years here in Aus, too many Newcastle Browns when I used to live in the NE, or simply my Geordie brain.
But I stand corrected. It was Portsmouth Poly I ha d the interview, not Plymouth.
