I went to the one in Hamburg last year. Even my daughter was absolutely entranced by it!

I think this should come with a public health warning such as

Incompetent modellers look away now

I thought I was doing alright today, as it's Saturday and no work, but now I'm not so sure  :'( :'(

If you could have one thing from all of Wunderland what would it be?  I'll have the UFO.

It would entail far to much track cleaning for my liking.

In fact I see that this is the one in Hamburg. There is also something similar in Berlin which I think is called Minatuur Welt or something like that.

We went to the Berlin one last August and it was brilliant. Highlights for me were a military siding with gates that opened and shut periodically to admit trainloads of armoured vehicles, and a chocolate factory with private rail access, which dispensed a chocolate square when you pressed a button!

There's a good chance of us getting to Hamburg to see it, Clare is just as keen as me as she wants to see that airport close up :D

Trust me Paul, the airport is astonishing. They operate it like the real thing, from push backs to runway direction changes for wind and occasional go - arounds.

They even went to the trouble of recording real engine sounds and playing them with every jet to match. Oh, and the latest products of BOTH major airframers are represented  ;D  ;)

If you go to the Hamburg one, try and spot Micheal Portillo on one of the platforms.
