Title: Missing part...
Post by: lionwing on January 15, 2014, 04:43:30 PM
No sure when this happened..

On my Dapol Class 14xx the coppered coloured structure immediately in front of the cab, along the top of the loco, has gone missing!  Can't honestly say when or where it has gone but I am keen to replace it!

Would anyone know where I might be able to source a spare?

Thank you.

Try 2k Technologies, I got a replacement chimney and screw, quick service but not cheap, on Ebay.

ps Try DCC Supplies also.

Thanks for the reply.

It is not the forward chimney I need, that part being available from both DCC and 2k, but the "coppered coloured chimney near the cab. See image below...

I have wondered if it is a common part and perhaps other manufacturers (mine been a Dapol) or comparable models copper chimney's may fit.

It is a standard GWR safety valve fitting. Most models they are part of the shell not fittings so it's not that trivial. N Brass does some similar fittings worst case.

Try Dapol directly. I lost the whistle from a Farish A4, e-mailed Bachmann and they sent me one for the price of the postage!
