Very clever and convincing illusion - now how do I build it on my layout?

It certainly is baffling :confused1:
Spooky ???
Digital editing has a lot to answer for...

It's a train, Jim. but not as we know it :confused1:
I think I've mentioned this on here before, but years ago at York Station the Rail Riders club had a kind of exhibition layout, with an N gauge layout where a 56 with HAAs went into one side of an unloading plant full, and came out empty the other side, it was all timed to match speed and position.
Loops inside the tunnel/building solve the problem.
Cheers, Timmo

I liked that one as well
My brain hurts please stop this madness :confused1:
Its presumably just an escher type illusion for the stairs, maybe some form of twisted perspective for the other, quite convincing.

Try The McGurk Effect! - Horizon: Is Seeing Believing? - BBC Two (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-lN8vWm3m0#ws)
(and if you think it is a hoax, then listen to it with your eyes shut)

Saw a good bit on how they filmed scenes of the lord of the rings with "frodo" and "gandalf" in the same scene on the cart early on in the movie. Was hoping it wasn't all cgi -interested to see they were on set together in a T shaped cart (and presumably small enough aperture so they were both in the same DOF) . Good one re: the "McGurk Effedt" though. Fascinating.

The ability to create illusions is not just limited to Peter Jackson - it seems to be common to all New Zealanders. This is a tourist attraction in Wanaka in the South Island of NZ, which I visited in 2008.
Mrs B makes Bealman feel his usual size in the place of things:

Bealman visits a Roman you-know-what:

But Mrs B eventually gets the point:
