I'd like this one shrunk to n gauge and sound fitted please Bachmann if you read this...

Oh I really hope so, I'll have three in green.
Cheers
Dave
Split code 40 in BR green would be great.

A Re-tooled 40 is one of my predictions for the Farish announcements in July. My logic is that the model is in need of an upgrade and as per the first post, the OO version has just been re-tooled so hopefully they'll shrink the artwork down.

When (and if) a Class 40 comes along we can all re-enact the Great Train Robbery on our layouts !
Ha, you got my drift! :-)

Found this example lurking in a tent at the NRM....

Not QUITE N gauge though :-[

A retooled 40' is almost definitely on the cards given that they've already done the OO version and that the current 40' is one of the few remaining pre-Bachmann models still kicking about in their current range.
I shall personally be buying many of them, even though I'll find it difficult to justify them on my current layout!
I've always like 8 axle diesels and have 3 Whistlers and 3 Peaks.
Bring a new version on, Farish
I'd love a blue split code 40 - I remember buying a Lima OO gauge one when I was about 8 because it had the most wheels (and therefore must be the best diesel...)

See, even as an 8 year old you knew the truth. :D

Would love to see one released in Green Livery and full yellow ends but not numbered D200 or 40 106.
Large logo blue is still the best class 40 livery...

After seeing the pictures of the big 'un in BRM this month I'm now suddenly not so keen to spend my cash.

What is it you don't like about the new OO 40? Is it because it's in OO gauge?! ;) :NGaugersRule:
Only thing stopping a proper n gauge version being done would be bachmann already had a decent chassis for the 00 one that just needed tweaking from the first botched version.
Ours would need a complete new one unless they can tweak the new DCC ready one that will be under the peaks due out in whatever year they appear ::)

Heh, no it's the very silly mould line on the nose (in this day and age?) and the huge gap between the body & bogies: the nose ends look like they're floating. There's a bunch of smaller issues that are just rivet counting, but the end result isn't exactly stellar.

yeh I noticed this in the pictures too. in n gauge I doubt you'll notice it though, esp. as more than likely looking down on the trains rather than level with them.
