Just had my final running session of 2013, with the final train of the year being SWMBO's rake of 35 Private Owner plank wagons, hauled by my trusty WD 2-8-0.
Anybody else having one last session (bar a drink of course!)?

Just ran a broccoli special of 12 cattle wagons plus brake van double headed by a prarie and a pannier.
Can't actually guarantee that I won't slip upstairs later though to run another train !
In view of the impending trackwork reconfiguration on Dunestone, the ballasting train has arrived...

Jobs for when the weather gets really cold and the garage is out of bounds:
1) wagon loads on the Sealions and the other open wagons;
2) weathering!
Running in my BL2 and testing the new track on my BAR layout. Just come in for my tea and hope to go back out later.

since i was stuck on the sydney harbour bridge for firework fire duty the only trains i got to play with was watching them dive into the city underground off the bridge headings towards central.
fireworks ok broken up with a few fire calls to keep it interesting
would of rather been at home though

Mine was Farish Class 42 Warship "Magpie" with 4 BR Mk1 maroon coaches on a New Year's Eve revellers Special. Train still standing at the up platform while the passengers take their fifth comfort break of the trip.
On Monday it took me about 10 hours to wire my new layout, and on the last day of 2013 I tested the track with my Class 24, it ran so smooth all the way round, I am really chuffed with the outcome and now its the scenery to sort out.

Thanks Mick. Class 42. Finger trouble again. I do have a Class 52 Western as well but even I can tell the difference between green and maroon (Magpie and Western Sovereign). Will modify the post. It might even have been the sixth comfort break and not the fifth too
