Also got 3 sets of signals, form a company in Tasmania called Hand made - 2 dwarf for the yards and 1 home and away. A great addition to the set - I added another GUV to mine to bring it up to this:
[smg id=8830]
I got a CCT and a blue spot van for my 30th birthday last week, I then got another CCT and blue spot van today for Christmas! Added into my rake, we now have a parcels train which looks like this:
[smg id=9013]
I also got a railway book about the Paignton & Dartmouth railway, a railway poster calendar (for the birthday) and an NEM pocket conversion kit so I'll try to document the process to put a guide up here.
I was lucky enough to get a railway calendar, a railway book and a Farish Tornado. The Tornado is a birthday present as well and is thousands of miles away in Luton awaiting delivery to me by my daughter in a few weeks time.
:claphappy:
Well courtesy of mk1gtstu, SWMBO bought me his detailed and weathered 47 that was for sale on here. She also bought me a fabulous book called 'Britains Scenic Railways' and the box set of British Transport films on dvd.
I also got enough reading material to last me a while including Tom Clancy's last book 'Command Authority'.
Merry Xmas to all.
Regards
Neal.

I would love to know where you got that from!
I got no new models :(
Nothing new until new year i think :(
But even then its a southern theme! Merchant navy and bullieds!
At Xmas I normally get money rather than material things from my mum, I'll decide in due course what to spend it on ...
60006, what you've received is an excellent investment for the future - decent storage for your stock.

I believe the company is called Avocations. I think they have their own website as well as an eBay shop.

The real treat with regard to this topic is to be had tomorrow since virtually all the shops re-open on Boxing Day.
And the treat ? Refunds !!!
The greatest riches are to be had in the Take Back Queue at Marks and Spencer.
There you can find yourself behind hatchet faced women who offer each other a closely guarded peak into a barely opened crack in the top of a bag whilst intoning "Honestly!! What do you think of this? Would you wear these? What sort of a woman does he think I am !! ?"
Firstly , Happy Christmas and a very happy New year everyone

'An Illustrated History of LMS Locomotives Vol 1' from my bro, along with the Glasgow book in the Lost Railways series. The LMS book will be invaluable for research but now I know that Vol 3 covers the S&DJR, so that has to be added to my target list. :D
More rain expected tonight and tomorrow, so flooding is stll a very real risk for some, as is leaking holes in roofs. :worried:

I've already got the Irwell Press volumes on the North Devon the North Cornwall lines so my wife bought me their 4 volumes covering the LSWR mainline from Waterloo through to Exeter and it's branches whilst my son bought me the volume covering the line from Exeter to Plymouth via Okehampton. They really are fantastic books and I would highly recommend the North Devon and North Cornwall books to anyone. Looking forward to reading the others now.
My wife also got me Mike King's Illustrated History of Southern Pull-Push Stock which is the companion volume to his excellent Illustrated History of Southern Coaches.
Finally my daughter gave me an Amazon voucher which will be spent on.... yep, you guessed correctly, more books!
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and has an even better New Year.

I got a Farish long wheelbase Railfreight Van and Graham Hedges book on N Gauge Modelling as well as a few other Railway books. However, Callum my son was lucky enough to get 2x Class 20's, 8x SPAs and an HAA ;) (along with some 16mm wagon kits also). Think we did alright all told! :D Not had chance to take a picture yet though...
No trains here, not surprising as I don't actually need any :D
However, got an excellent 8-DVD box set:-

which despite obviously knowing the one on the front cover ;) will be most useful. I'm not afraid to admit that away from the ECML I know very little about locos, and even less about Multiple Units, so should be a good read :)

Hi John,
The Kato Pocket Line 10-502-2 Mini Convex Blue Freight Train consists of the locomotive with Blue plastic body and black chassis fitted with a metal pantograph plus a black plastic open freight wagon and black plastic open fright wagon with brake cab all fitted with metal wheels. The locomotive is excellent and runs well on my Kato Unitrack and Unitram track. The whole makes a good representation of a permanent way maintenance train for my tramway layout. I bought mine from top slots 'n' trains at www.topslotsntrains.com (http://www.topslotsntrains.com) . The chassis is the Kato 11-103 4 wheel tram chassis which I have bought for a future project to fit under an appropriate tram body when I find one.
I would recommend this set.
Regards,
Alex
Hi Alex,
Thank you for your detailed review

Nothing physical for the as-yet-still-not-started layout, but I did get 5 years membership of the Bluebell Railway, which I was very pleased with. :)
Belated Christmas wishes to you all, and all the best for 2014.

father christmas kindly left a pair of bachmann FA units in B & O livery nice runners - ready chipped , but i;m glad i got the B & O ones as they arn't a patch on the kato F units , and the santa fe livery would have shown them up , also of note the backy ones arn't modeled on the prototype -

I got some vouchers for the local model shop...surprisingly I have not spent them yet....!
Sorry; here's the answer to my question. 8-)
Lovely idea. 8-)
I didn't get anything specifically model railway related for Christmas (unless you count the socks with the A4 Mallard on them? :-[ ) but I did get £60 worth of Amazon vouchers - which will be going towards an airbrush compressor! :claphappy:
Nothing rail related, but I did get a pair of wireless headphones so I can now listen to Radcliffe & Maconie after getting back from work without being tied to the PC. (http://www.cruithne3753.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/moties/icon_music.gif)
I haven't replied to this thread before because most of my gifts are embarrassing!
I did get a nice bottle of Whisky but I also was given a set of 3 underpants, a set of mens handkerchiefs, some socks in Lurid Green and a wooden train that has to be built!
The only N gauge was the set featured in my posting about the wheels falling off!
Peter.
I got two books about French railway station architecture - unfortunately for general readers so no track plans.
Best regards,
Joe de Paris
I won't ask if the socks matched the underpants :-\

Nice one. Just turn the second coach around and it'll be correctly formed - don't know about the Blue/Grey one but the two green versions I have have incomplete formation notes on the inserts, in that it fails to distinguish between the two driving cars. In the Phase I CEPs (7105-53) the even-numbered driving car carried the unit mg (motor-generator) and was formed next to the TSK, and the odd-numbered driving car the unit battery.
IFAIR the Farish Blue/Grey Cep is numbered 7113; the correct formation is DMBSO 61308 - TSK 70262, formed with the lavatory end next to the DMBSO - TCK 70305, formed with the 1st class end next to the TSK - DMBSO 61309
For those that have the green CEPs, the early one without the SYP and yellow cantrail stripe on the TCK is no. 7105 and the motor is in the even-numbered driving car (this is the one with the headcode (50) on it). From that end, the formation is DMBSO 61230 - TSK 70229 - TCK 70235 - DMBSO 61229. The later green with SYP and cantrail stripe on the TCK is no. 7126 and the motor is in the even-numbered driving car (this is the one with the headcode (18) on it). From that end, the formation is DMBSO 61334 - TSK 70275 - TCK 71318 - DMBSO 61335
Thanks for that mate. My focus period is post refurbishment so I havn't paid too much attention to the as built CEP's. I made sure I got one though as I love the model! Good reference for future use though. Is this mentioned in a CEP thread somewhere on the forum?
My Union Mills Cauliflower and T9 came :) Now just to chip them or more likely send them to get chipped ;)

Not that I could see when I did a Forum Search on "4CEP", unless anyone knows otherwise... :)
I could open up a thread in the Knowledgebank on 'SR EMU formations', I suppose... Which driving coach is the motor in on your Blue/Grey 4CEP?
