Hello Everyone
It is already Christmas Eve here in Australia and just one more sleep till Christmas then it is over for another 365 days (hooray).
Just being down at the local shopping mall. Got there at 0730 hrs to pick up the turkey and some other items and it was reasonably quiet but by the time I left an hour later to say it was bedlam would imply some degree of order.
Lovely old ladies with trolleys were absolute murder. Get in their way and you wound up under the trolley believe me. No mercy or quarter given.
Anyway have a great time with your love ones and friends over Christmas and in the New Year may you run without derailments.
Bah Humbug
Geoff
PS It is going to be 34 deg C here on Christmas Day. I am delicate little flower so I will probably wilt!
34 deg Centigrade huh ? It's a lot like that here except its about 34 deg Farenheit with 90 mph winds and driving rain. People are getting washed away in swollen rivers, trees are coming down across roads, trains are being cancelled, and there are power cuts galore. Just like it looks on Christmas cards.
At least we won't get beach sand in the turkey dinner.

Same in Qld.
One bonus is you just have to wrap turkey and ham in al-foil and pop out in full sun to cook. :)

Have a good time folks from this side of the pond, only 90mph winds here with a lot of people without power, who with which have had to leave there homes so no Christmas for them.
All the very best to one and all.
Quite pleasant conditions here in NSW with just an hour or so to go to Christmas Day.
Merry Christmas to our 3000+ members!
George :beers:

Ever had the feeling the Australian contingent on here are rubbing our noses in it slightly, and complaining how cold it is down under at 27 degrees. :hmmm: Also had and email from my friend in New Zealand saying he was looking forward in going to the beach Christmas day.
Can't hang around here all day got to go and get my sou'wester on and tie down the garden furniture :rain:
Merry Christmas to all on NGF in every part of the world...have a good one.

I don't like the hot weather either - and it's just started raining lightly here, which is OK with me!
I must have been bad this year got up this morning and no trains : :( maybe there might be some under the tree when I get home
Merry Xmas everyone
Bart
The weather took a back seat this morning when the fully laden fridge decided to die :worried: resulting in mad dash to buy a cheap replacement..................which nearly ended up taking valuable room in my man cave until I skilfully diverted it into the lounge
Anyway have a great Christmas everyone
:)
And a Very Happy Christmas from me Guys and Girls
:beers:

Poor Bart. I shed a tear for you; no not really I was peeling onions.
However, having spent quite a few years in the RAAF and then Customs I sympathise with you having to work Christmas cause I worked my fair share.
Kind regards
Geoff
To one and all have a great day and I wish you all a Merry Christmas, let the festivities begin :beers:
I see that Father Christmas ran on time last night

so here's hoping that everyone got the presents they wanted and have a wonderful day of overeating, drinking, Dr Who and no arguments with the in-laws and/or relatives etc.
For those you may live alone, not always the elderly, I hope that this day is not too bad for you. There is a wonderful community here so perhaps you could think of us as your family?
Nigel.
Off now to see where Santa hid my new PS3?
Merry Christmas everyone.
:beers:
Although it's only 8.10 am which still qualifies as night in our house Happy Christmas everyone.
If you forgot to put the sprouts on to simmer in August it's too late now and you'll have to go with frozen peas now instead.
Merry Christmas everyone, I think Santa has left a pile of stuff under the tree, how quickly dare I retreat to the railway room :D
Cheers everyone. :beers:

Tomorrow earliest.
Today's for doing your unselfish Christmas duty which may mean getting bored by about 2.30 but it's what's expected.
2:30 :'( blimey thats pushing it.
Merry Christmas to everyone. Hope you all have a great time with your families, full of joy and happiness.
Thanks for all the help and advice this last year, and here's to 2014.
Cheers :beers: Timmo
A very merry Christmas day to one and all, hope you have all you wish for.
9.30 am and no sign of the local kids excitedly riding new bikes, falling over on new roller skates and skateboards, or pushing new dolls in dolls prams, or even running radio controlled beach buggies into kerbs.
Oops. Forgot it's 2013. All indoors starting a 14 hour session on Alien Wars Death Task Destruction 9.
A very merry Christmas to one and all. Hope Santa brought lots of N gauge goodies for everyone! 😀
Merry Christmas.
We've been luckier than some. Our power is back on. Thinking of those without power or with an unexpected water feature.
A Merry Christmas to all.
I've been rather busy lately, though I've cut out some time for the growing N gauge fleet.
Just noticed out of the kitchen window that there's snow on the top of Lord Hereford's Knob. Does this mean its a white Christmas?
Merry Christmas to all! :beers:
cheers, Stu. :)

I know there never a stupid question on here, but....can someone explain how I ended up with an i-pod when the note I left clearly stated a London Midland DMU????
The i-pod is nice though and I am grateful for it.
Merry Christmas all!!

Etched Pixels has explained it perfectly and brilliantly. That's the view minus the snow. It's just to the right of centre viewed through our kitchen window.
Merry Christmas to all, thinking of all those stranded, without power or flooded.
I'll raise a glass to you all
Have a great "N"ew year!
Graham
Merry Christmas one and all!
Cheers
Mark
Merry Christmas everybody
And a happy new year

Not a Merry Christmas here
Did anybody see the chaos at Gatwick yesterday that was us. We should have flown to Switzerland to spend Christmas with my wife's family. Arrived at 6pm for the 8.15 flight total chaos
The power to North Terminal was out at least in part so no luggage handling so we waited for four hours with more and more people arriving and very little information from Easyjet. Then the decided to try to do baggage drop at the South Terminal so we run over through the most horrendous mass of people I have ever seen get the bags booked in we are then bussed back to the North terminal and wait another 2 hours when they call the flight and final check us in. After 2 hours or so because they have not got enough busses to move everybody a buss turns up takes out to a spot where there is no aircraft they then we are told the flight has been cancelled!! When we get back all the easyjet staff have gone into hiding and it takes the police an hour to confirm the flight has been officially cancelled. Finally another hour to recover our cases which had been dumped with about 2000 others in a hall, then we drove back up to Coventry arriving at 12pm having left at 4am
Please Please don't fly Easyjet go by Train
