Very sad news just broadcast.
Aged 95 and one of the worlds greats.
One great man very sad.
RIP
A man who brought great change.
Very sad news.
Read it here before the news.
My sister was a TV news reporter in the 90's and was invited by the great man to "have a chat " whilst the two of them waited for their planes. Talked about their families etc just chatted, she said he was truly a wonderful man.
Certainly one of the worlds greatest ever statesmen.
I remember when he was released, I, like many others thought there would be all out civil war. His calls for unity and forgiveness was truly humbling to hear.
A truly inspirational statesman and leader. To have kept South Africa peaceful and democratic post Apartheid was a monumental achievement. What a legacy, what a man.
Anyone remember Steve Biko...........
A man far more deserving of the praise that will be handed out to Mandella over the coming days.

I would state I am no fan of Nelson Mandela, and especially Winnie Mandela.
However, I am extremely saddened to see fellow forum members being slagged off on an open thread for stating their opinion.
As such, I am firmly of the belief this ought to be locked but that is just my thoughts.
Happy to do so if given just the slightest encouragement
Given that this man and his actions were highly political, I agree with NPN.

That's all I needed :thankyousign:
