Hi All,
After reading the latest copy of N'spirations #5 i have to say its the first magazine style booklet totally dedicated to N gauge with everything in plain English none of the gobbledegook & biase associated with other publications.
Printed on good quality paper with all colour pages ideal to put in your pocket if your on the move or to enjoy at home relaxing in your armchair, for it's price i have not seen in 40yrs modelling a publication to compare to it.
Sending for a copy couldnt be easier & the speedy service H provides is first class.
No Association to H just very happy customer to see such good value for money.
Copies can be obtained;
* Through ebay with payment by Paypal
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nspirations5-British-N-Gauge-magazine-style-booklet-/120768175828?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item1c1e581ed4
* By mail order with a cheque for £3 (includes P&P).
* Directly from a number of specialist traders/dealers including the N Gauge Society. Please note that these will probably not be available from the traders until at The International N Gauge Show (10/11th September at Leamington). The plan was to launch N'spirations5 at TINGS so the bulk will be available thjere from the usual traders.
I agree with you Upnick. It lives up to its name - the photos are excellent and the layouts are inspriational. 8)
I like the practical how-to approach to the tutorial articles too. I liked the bus one last time and bought the necessary busses to give it a go.
I just sent my cheque to H and only hope it gets there before he sells out! ::)
I agree. This was my first issue and I enjoyed the read, layout and clear photo's. Maybe there could be a review in the next issue of the forum?! ;)
Perhaps H will reciprocate and give NGF some free advertising in his mag ;)
Just ordered my copy. hurry hurry hurry i feel im missing out ;D
Just received my copy of No. 5 - my first issue -fuNtastic - excellent articles clearly written in English. A very enjoyable read. ;D
Pity the previous issues are sold out, I would certainly buy back numbers if they were available.
Is there a subscription service?

The first post mentions that the bulk was to be made available at TINGS, is this still the case? if so then surely this issue can't be close to being sold out just yet ???

What a great idea!
H - would you consider taking subscription orders for future issues, presumably paid in advance?

Cracking idea, Gromit. H gets money up front and it may take some of the pain out of the office work
What do you reckon, H?

Sorry, Mark. I think you might just have upset Silly Moo (Veronica) :o
A "Digital Edition" or compendium of previous issues (as they usually go out of print) would be good once you've got a few issues out. £10 for a 5 issue CD would probably be reasonable with them all as PDFs. That or you could simply go the iBooks route and publish them for £2 a pop on the iBook store (they'd be protected files then, so you wouldn't have the piracy risk you'd get with selling CDs).
A lot of these 'protection' systems are just rackets. Firstly they are usually trivial to break, and secondly its just as easy to stuff the paper one under a scanner. At the end of the day people pay because they want something and usually with an element of 'right now', so you'll lose more on the "protection" than to the usual mix of loans, second handles sales and plain naughty copying
Having it on my iPad/iPhone for when I get a chance to read it and not losing the paper copy makes it worth it to me as a reader though (especially now I don't have to keep copies of them all locally) and the large customer base without having to do the cost of print runs makes it a bit of a no-brainer on the sales side too.
I have 1-4 and think they are pretty good - not so sure about the lack of bias (the Dapol Brit got a great write up before it came out which I thought was a bit rich - but then I got my copy after it came out with the various issues which have been well aired - and from my "read" of things the Dapol things seemed to get a bit more of a positive spin than the Farish, or that they may have deserved based on my perceptions) but the "give it a go" articles are great - I have plans for copying a number of them (and have put the post it note book marks in to find things quickly again).
I'll be getting my copy of 5 with my next NGS order.

Thanks upnick, I have finally got around to buying a copy from ebay
I just received my copy of the N'spirations Yearbook. I'm very happy with it! I thought it was a little expensive when I saw it advertised on eBay, but it is definitely well worth it. Plenty of pages, articles, pictures and helpful information. There is even a link to the forum in there! :) Very professionally made. Off to read some more of it....
:NGaugersRule:
just checked the e-bay link and all sold.

As an update on the N'spirations magazine side of things (the Yearbook was a one-off side diversion) I'm hoping to get
issue #6 completed and off to the printers in about a weeks time. With luck it should be available at the St Albans exhibition
(Jan 14th/15th) from the N Gauge Society stand. I'll also obviously post here when it becomes available and people will be able
to order by PayPal (but not yet please) rather than via ebay. There will be a slight price increase to £2.20 a copy and post and
packing (to be advised) on top of that.

Just wondering H,could you PM me with details so I can send a cheque by post to you as I don't have a paypal account.Sorry if this is inconvenient, but as I bought every copy of Nspirations at TINGS,I don't want to miss out on the yearbook or the latest upcoming issue.
Thanks
Pete

Sorry, but unfortunately cheques are right out now - the bank has withdrawn the facility to pay cheques in at the local village Post Office and the nearest branch is a long way which is time consuming and expensive to visit. However, you can still use Postal Orders, as I can cash them at the local Post Office, or as you've obviously got an email address just set up a PayPal account; it's free, quick and easy. And better for buyers than sellers.

Yay - managed to get one this time - thanks guys

I don't have any stocks of #5 left (#6 is yet to be printed) as it came out at the end of August. However, some of the regular stockists may have one or two left. Try the N Gauge Society (if you are a member); you can order from their mail order shop.
I do have more Yearbooks available and I'll list some on ebay tomorrow after I've taken todays sales to the Post Office and purchased some more jiffy bags.
H.
Is it possible to put the ebay link here as soon as each edition is available ?

not a member :'( according to there website they still have some.is there anywhere else i can get it ?????
The traders I usually supply are; Osborns, Plus Daughters, BHE, Townfoot, N'Tastic/CRS, and The N Gauge Society, but they generally only take a small supply at a time.
All I have is about half a dozen copies of issue #3 and plenty of #1.
