We have the same problem over here with it being too warm, but usually a short sharp tap on the thermostat puts it right.

Yep December is here, and the usual tradition of the central heating going pop and the boiler man coming to fix it has just happened. Except this time he dropped his torch down the back of the boiler and had to disassemble half of it to get the torch out :-X
Still that won't be a problem in a few years time, nobody will be able to afford to turn it on anyway.
