You could try

http://www.ngauge.org.uk/bachfar_coaches.htm (http://www.ngauge.org.uk/bachfar_coaches.htm)

which is a good source of info for models of stuff from the post-nationalisation era.
Hope this helps.

Yep, all the named ones :) didnt bother with the second class parlour cars which carry the numbers only as i wanted names.....

The box came from Evil Bay and i cut to size, it also carries a class 67 Dummy in it usually so Mallard can pull them in the main line :)

any idea what it was called? the box i mean?

where did you find all your pullmans? im missing 4 named ones

Gosh I must have got lucky then seeing as I have all 14 of them, making two rakes, one pulled by the Royal Alex and the other by the Brighton Evening Argus.  :D

Must admit to not running them as often as I should, it's such a pain taking them all out of their boxes running them for a few hours then putting everything back in it's box

send them to someone who runs them all the time then ;) lol

you think its bad with 14 coaches? you should see me at the n gauge club, i spend more time getting mine out and putting them away, as by the time we are in full swing, i have approximatly 30+ coaches out, 10+ locos...

the locos take the longest since they have god knows how much packing in them now!

well these pullmans are still hard to get arent they?

my collection so far stands at:-

Brake end Car No 79 (BH enterprises)
Robin (actually car no 334)
Falcon
Emerald
Amethyst
The Hadrian Bar
Car no 349
Car No 348
Car no 347

and just ordered Garnet, Car no 350 and Amber from Hattons and Osbornes respectivley. still 6 off the original lot, then with opal and 351 coming out next month, i wont hesitate buying them! especially opal! (just hurry up and do robin!)

What were the typical make up of Mk1 pullman trains in steam days? I believe I'm correct in saying the 1st class cars were the named ones, and the second class were the numbered ones?

Assuming this is correct what typical makeup was there - equal numbers of each in a train, or biased one way or the other?

Cheers,
Alan
