Title: Phoenix paint for 60074 Teenage Cancer Livery
Post by: alibuchan on November 17, 2013, 11:11:04 AM
Hi guys,

With the fact that I now have a spare class 60 body. due to me stealing the chassis for the 92 that I'm currently painting, I decided to do the Teenage Cancer 60 as the transfers are available from Precision.

However I didn't check to see if Phoenix actually do the correct paint. I have searched but the closest I can find is prototype deltic blue but it's not the right shade. Does anyone know of a better match than that?

Thanks

Alustair

Ford Riviera Blue from Halfords would be a better match applied over grey primer. I tend to use spray paints for all my repaints including Ford Moondust Silver for my Tata 60099.

Hi Chris,

I'm not a fan of aerosol paints. Especially as I only last year treated myself to a iwata air brush last year at Warley. I find you get a much better finish with the air brush.

Can you get Halfords to mix the paints for spraying with an airbrush? I bought some years ago for my old Toyota to respray the rear spoiler, but it was using a much larger air gun.

Cheers, timmo

If you're airbrushing, then this might be worth a look:-

Sea Blue would seem the nearest match.
