Title: Farish Mark 3 coaches
Post by: colinb on November 15, 2013, 09:59:18 PM
Can anyone tell me how to open Farish Mark 3 coaches (China made)?

I want to add extra weight inside the body.

Many thanks

Hi Colin

The roof is fixed to two pillars and unclips by running a finger nail between the side and the roof.  Try to get the roof off as vertically as possible to avoid breaking the end off the plastic pillars.

Hope that helps

If you want to add weight (which really shouldn't be necessary!)

- unclip the underframe
- insert weight
- clip back into place

keeps any weight below the bogie pivot line so won't make the coach more likely to topple or tilt about.

You can also get interiors for them.

Who sells coach interiors? They do them for mk4 too?

BR Lines produced interiors for all the Farish Mk2,3 and 4 coaches. They really do finish off the job well, especially with a lick of paint.

Thanks Pete and Alan

Your comments encouraged me to look more carefully at the coaches. I found that the under boxes just clip off, and were the ideal location for extra weight.
