Title: Petrolhead's Paradise Day
Post by: Newportnobby on October 13, 2013, 11:05:35 PM
Been stuck in front of the telly today.
1st up was the MotoGP from Malaysia (3 races)
2nd up was the Formula 1 from Japan
3rd was the (repeated) programme about the building of the McLaren sports car
I am currently recording "Senna" so I can watch it tomorrow.

Oh, and just to finish off I am also recording the classic gridiron fixture Dallas Cowboys v Washington Redskins

Happy Days :)

Something I watch for about an hour every year or two. I'm grown up now so I don't really need it.

Similar day - only didn't get the Mclaren bit over here. My idea of a good Sunday evening. (yes evening - 9 1/2hrs in front)

Bloomin heck,I missed Motogp, not really bothered about F1 but Senna is a fantastic film.I saw it last year.

Also on the box,on ITV4,was the final round of the BTCC.Now here is motorsport on 4 wheels at its finest, with 3 in line to win the championship and another 2 outside possibilities. Its all done and dusted now but I won't give the game away as its repeated again sometime later this week.I have watched all rounds live or later on through my Sky+HD box so have seen how it all developed from the beginning.

I'll watch Motogp in the week on Eurosport and no doubt watch highlights of the F1(if I can be bothered) on Sky Sports F1.

Mire pressingly though,I have a few sound decoder installs to complete before next weekend to fit in between work and sleeping. And layout work.

Plenty to do.

Nothing there for this petrolhead

Don't really do single-seaters, or silly-priced supercars for that matter, on the grounds that they're not 'real' cars ;) I'm with Pete that the BTCC is where it's at, that and the WRC  8)

"Senna" is truly excellent though, opened my eyes (and mind) to just what a fantastic individual he was

Hi bealman,

Totally agree with you. When I read the title I thought it was going to be about how good the fords went yesterday.

Have never heard of those other categories, are they new!

Go frosty!

If you enjoyed Senna (and you haven't seen it yet) then Rush is well worth a watch.

Hey there Bart,

In all truth, yesterday arvo I was at the bowling club listening to "Vroom vroom, VROOOOOM" coming from a telly round the corner, but I was watching the Womens' netball test - Australia vs New Zealand, which got down to a point in the last minute!! Much more exciting!

Just joking.... you weren't up on the hill with the stubbies, I hope. My ex neighbour was religious. Had so many Team Holden shirts he used to tie up my washing line.  ;D ;D ;D

Hey George ,
No I was in between shifts at work. After night shift I set the alarm for 1020 in time for the start and took over the mess room at work in full ford outfit. I was asked to go but I had to work but it did not stop having a go at two Holden mates as soon as frosty crossed the line.
Next purchase it to get the new forza5 for the Xbox as it has a good Bathurst race on in as I miss the original v8 super cars game on the original Xbox shame they did OT do it for the 360 version. Many a good night was had with the mates racing in my theatre room

Bring on Sydney

Cool!

Still reckon they are wussie petrolheads back in old dart if they can't stretch their TV fest into a 24 hour-a-thon, though.  ;D
